Sony World Photography Awards, which is one of the leading photography competition is now open for open for Malaysia. This time the best photographer from Malaysia will get to walk away with Malaysia National Award for Photographers of all abilities from Malaysia. There’s ten categories and Photographers must submit one image to the Open Competition.

Categories

Architecture, Culture, Enhanced, Motion, Landscape & Nature, Portraiture, Still Life, Street Photography, Travel and Wildlife. The Sony World Photography Awards consists of four competitions: Professional, 10 categories judged upon a body of work that consists of five to ten images. Open, best single images across 10 categories. Youth, for photographers from 12 – 19 with a single image. Finally, Student Focus, for those who study photography.

Winner & Deadline

Photos taken between January 1st and December 31st 2017 will be eligible for the competition. The competition will close on Tuesday, January 4th 2018.

The winner for the Malaysia National Award will be announced in March 2018. Not just that, the winner will walk away with a Sony a7RII, SEL2470Z and a trip to the Award Ceremony in London. Second prize winner will get a Sony A6500 paired with a SEL1670Z lens. Third prize winner will walk away with a Sony RX100 Mark V.

The winning image will be published in the annual Sony World Photography Awards winner book. It’ll also be showcased digitally alongside with winning and shortlisted photographers from around the world. Right in time for the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition that’s held in London in April/May 2018.
