Sony announces the successor to the long awaited A7R Series, which is the Sony A7RIII. This is their latest addition to the lineup and let’s see what’s under the hood.

The Sony A7RIII packs a 35mm Full-Frame 42.4MP Back-Illuminated Exmor R CMOS Image Sensor with Evolved Image Processing. It has the capability to shoot upto 10fps with Silent Shooting or Mechanical Shutter and full Auto Focus/Auto Exposure tracking. More on the Back Illuminated Exmor R CMOS Image Sensor, it’s utilises a gapless on-chip lens design and anti – reflective coating on the surface of the sensor’s seal glass. This gives an increased improvement in capturing the light and let’s you capture images like never before with low noise and amazing dynamic.

It comes with 399 PDAF points that covers 68% of image area, 425 Contrast AF points and approximately 2 times more Eye AF. To make shooting in motion possible, it also comes with a 5-axis image stabilization with a 5.5 step shutter speed advantage. Finally, the A7RIII has the power to shoot High Resolution 4K Movie Shooting with full pixel readout and no pixel binning.

Design

It still rocks the signature Sony A7R design. But has something that you don’t see in a whole lot of camera. Options. The A7RIII comes with dual media slots, one for UHS-II type SD Cards. To store your content, you can have a separate JPEG / RAW, separate Still image / movie recording and the list goes on. The battery life has been expanded with their new Z series battery that has 2.2 times the capacity of the W series which you can find in the a7R II. It also comes with a new OLED Quad-VGA TruFinder for accurate colors while taking pictures with the view finder. The display on the camera has also been upgraded too.

Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens

Sony also announced their new G Lens which comes with 24-105mm focal length with an E Mount. This particular lens features four aspherical lens element, two of them are high precision AA (Advanced aspherical). It also has 3 Extral low dispersion glass elements that works in combination with the AA. What this does is that, it minimises the chromatic aberration and captures the best image possible. The Nano AR coating allows you to reduce flare and ghosting. It also gives the best bokeh possible.

Pricing and Availability

With a camera like this, comes at a price tag that could take your breath away. It will go on for sale ar RM 14,888. And it will be available starting from 13th of December, 2017. Whereas the Sony FE 24-105mm F4 OSS lens will be sold for RM 6,099 and will be available starting from 8th December,
