Acer unveiled its latest gaming monitor at CES 2018 today, and it comes in the form of the Predator Big Format Gaming Display (BFGD). This supersized 65-inch screen is meant for PC gaming  and is the brainchild of a Nvidia and Acer collaboration.

Ultimate Gaming Monitor

The Predator BFGD which is larger than most household television screens, is built for gaming by Acer with specifications provided by Nvidia. This includes support for NVIDIA G-SYNC Variable Refresh Rate technology , which should provide gamers with an ultra smooth gaming experience. The display happens to sport a 4K HDR resolution, with an ultra-low latency refresh rate of 120Hz. The display can also get pretty bright, with the full-array direct backlight going up as high to 1,000 nits of peak luminance. Also, images and content will have higher contrast, deeper blacks and brighter white due to local dimming. This means part of the screen dims, while the rest of it remains bright, therefore increasing contrast ratio.

NVIDIA SHIELD capabilities is also available on the Predator BFGD, allowing gamers to stream content on to the monitor. Content such movies and TV shows from providers such as Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, and YouTube can be streamed to it. Games from the SHIELD library and other media apps may also be streamed on the Predator BFGD.  What’s great is that all of this can be done without the need of a computer, as it is built-in to the Predator BFGD.

To control the display, a remote and game controller is bundled with it, allowing users to navigate the interface. Also, Google Assistant is integrated into it, meaning control of the monitor can be done by voice. Smart home control can also be done, meaning any smart lights in your household can be controlled via the monitor.
