When it comes to Google Assistant powered products, we’ve seen a lot. Last year, Google unveiled the Google Home Mini and Max. It’s amazing when it comes to voice capability, but what it’s missing is a display. Well, Lenovo is filling that void up with their Lenovo Smart Display which also comes with an assistant on it.

Lenovo Smart Display

The Lenovo Smart Display comes in two different sizes – at 8″ and 10″ inch respectively. It’s powered with the newly announced Qualcomm Home Hub Platform based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 624. The Smart Display does not come with a full fledged Android under the hood but a Google Assistant UI which connects to the internet. (obviously).

The Smart Display has a front facing camera which you can use it to do video calls through Duo or Skype. It also connects to your IoTs like the Nest in your home to know more about the Thermostat and more. Beside the display, it packs a 10-watt speaker that’s loud and clear. Just say Hey Google in the room and voila, Google will be picking up your voice anywhere in the room.

What makes the Smart Display interesting is that it can be in any position, vertical or horizontal. It comes in two finish, Bamboo color and soft Grey.

Pricing and Availability

As it comes in two different sizes, the price also varies accordingly. The 10″ inch Smart Display will start at $249.99 whereas the 8″ inch will come in at $199.99 respectively. Sadly, we live in Malaysia and I’m pretty sure it’s not going to come to other parts of the world. If it does, you’ll hear it from us.
