Huawei has launched its latest mid-range handset here in Malaysia, and it happens to be the nova 2 lite. As the name of the devices suggests, it is a more “lite” version of the nova 2i, with less impressive specs.

Specifications

1/6

The Huawei nova 2 lite may be a mid-range handset, but it packs a rather large device. On the front, Huawei has included a 5.99-inch HD+ FullView Display, a pretty common sight these days. It sports an 18:9 aspect ratio and is coupled with 2.5D curve glass. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also features a microSD card slot which can hold a 256GB microSD card.

For optics, the nova 2 lite packs a dual camera on its rear, comprising of a 13MP and a 2MP shooter. While the 13MP camera acts as the main shooter, the 2MP shooter provides bokeh effects. Selfies are handled by an 8MP camera with a toning flash. Being a Huawei device, it also comes with a 10-level beauty mode. This dual-SIM smartphone is powered by a 3,000mAh  and runs on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The nova 2 lite also features face unlock alongside a fingerprint scanner. According to Huawei, it is powered by AI facial recognition algorithms and is able to detect 1,024 feature points of a human face.
