Not too long after HMD Global’s new line up of Nokia Smartphone announcement at MWC 2018, two of their smartphones – Nokia 1 and Nokia 7 Plus are now here and it’s available in Malaysia

Nokia 1: The AndroidGo Smartphone

1/5

For someone who’s looking for a simple phone that doesn’t break the bank, Nokia 1 offers some decent specification under the hood. On the front, you’ll find a 4.5″ display with a 2MP Front Facing Camera. On the back, you’ll find a 5MP Camera with Flash. Worry not as the Nokia 1 has the capability to support Dual SIM and on top of the included 8GB Internal, you can expand the memory with the help of a MicroSD card upto 128GB.

Nokia 1 happens to be the only phone that has a removable shell – they call it the Xpress-on covers (the name! It lives!). You can swap your shells for any of their other 4 color options – Azure, Grey, Yellow and Pink. If you are wondering about the performance, worry not. The Nokia 1 is one of the smartphones in the market to run AndroidGo, a stripped down version of the Full fledged Android OS with only the essentials.

The Nokia 1 comes in two colors – that is Warm Red and Dark Blue.

Nokia 7 Plus

1/7

Nokia 7 Plus is their new phablet which packs a 6″ FHD+ display in a 18:9 aspect ratio. As for the performance, the 7 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 with 4GB RAM under the hood. As for the storage, it has a 64GB Internal Storage.

On the back, you’ll notice that it has two camera optics. Yes, it has a dual camera setup. Nokia has opted in for a 13MP telephoto setup for the second sensor – which is a really good move in my opinion. The primary sensor rocks a 12MP Sensor. You might not have to worry about charging it with your battery pack or go to the nearest outlet, because the Nokia 7 Plus has a 3800 mAh battery under the hood.

The Nokia 7 Plus comes in two different color blends – Black Copper and White Copper.

Pricing and Availability

The Nokia 1 will be available from 13th April and will be priced at RM 339 and the additional Xpress covers will cost you about RM39.90 for a set of two.  Whereas the Nokia 7 Plus will be priced at RM 1699 and will be made available from 20th April.

You’ll be able to purchase the two new offerings from any of the authorized stores located all over Malaysia. To make the deal a lot more interesting, for every purchase of a Nokia 7 Plus, you’ll be eligible for a Nokia Gift box – which includes a Bluetooth Tripod, Tempered Glass and set of lens (Fisheye, Macro and Wide lens) – worth RM300.
