We all know for a fact that Asus is no stranger to the smartphone territory. In fact, they’ve been in the game for quite some time. Last year, they unveiled the Zenfone 4 lineup – Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro and Zenfone 4 Max. This year, they decided to unveil their new lineup earlier than expected and guess what? It was unveiled at Mobile World Congress.

Asus Zenfone 5Z

The Asus Zenfone 5Z is the flagship device that ships with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood. Following last year’s Zenfone Max Plus M1 which had a 18:9 aspect ratio, the 5Z jumps into the new 18:9 aspect ratio as well. The display is a 6.2″ inch in a 5.5″ inch body size. Not just that, along with the Snapdragon 845 processor, it comes with a configuration upto 8GB of RAM and 256GB ROM. That’s basically on steroids.

On the back, you’ll also find the device sporting a dual camera – powered by the latest Sony IMX363 sensor with 1.4um pixels, an f/1.8 wide-aperture lens and a 120 degree wide-angle secondary camera. It also comes with 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization and AI-enhanced camera features such as AI Scene Detection for 16 different scenes and objects, AI Photo Learning and many more.

Asus Zenfone 5

As for the Zenfone 5, it’s powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 under the hood. The Asus Zenfone 5 is more of a stripped down version of the 5Z. The device is also equipped with dual-camera setup under the hood. It’s powered by the latest Sony IMX363 Image sensor under the hood, with an aperture of f/1.8 and 4 Axis Optical Image Stabilization.

Asus Zenfone 5 Lite

The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite on the other hand is a 6″ FHD+ device which features the world’s first true four camera system that has the potential to bring out a high-resolution image and sports a wide-angle lens both on the front and back.

On the front, the device sports a 20MP Sony Sensor as primary whereas on the back it has a 16MP sensor. It also packs a 3300 mAh battery under the hood to provide longer battery life for more than a day. It also comes with a triple slot – where users can have 2 SIM and a MicroSD card at the very same time.

Pricing and Availability

We will keep you posted as we get our hands on the pricing and availability for the Malaysian market.
