Bowers & Wilkins introduces two new wireless earbuds to the Malaysian market, the Bowers & Wilkins Pi6 and Bowers & Wilkins Pi8, with a starting price of RM1,399. That said, find out more as to what new changes they are bringing to the table with these earbuds. Not to forget, Bowers & Wilkins is also introducing some new colours for their existing over-ear headphone models.

Bowers & Wilkins Pi6 and Pi8 Wireless Earbuds

Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 Wireless Earbuds

The flagship unit of the two, the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 Wireless Earbuds sports the 12mm drive unit that features the Carbon Bone technology used in their award-winning Px8 over-ear headphones. The Pi8 Wireless Earbuds includes IP54-rated water resistance protection in the build. The top of the Pi8 Wireless Earbuds also has a large touch surface with more advanced sensors to improve responsiveness, with the new IR proximity sensor within.

The Pi8 Wireless Earbuds offers up to 6.5 hours of listening time with the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) turned on, and users can get an additional 13.5 hours when charged from the Smartcase for a total of 20 hours use. The Smartcase supports USB-C and 3.5 mm analogue jack, and users only need 15 minutes of quick charging to provide 2 more hours of use.

The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 Wireless Earbuds supports both aptX Adaptive at 24-bit/96kHz and aptX Lossless, sporting a dedicated DSP, DAC and ADI amplification to ensure the best possible sound accuracy no matter what you’re listening to. The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 Wireless Earbuds runs the latest Bluetooth 5.4 specification to ensure multipoint support for up to two devices. User will be able to quickly pair a second device to the earbuds without having to remove it from their ears.

Supporting the iPhone (MFI), the Pi8 Wireless Earbuds ensures seamless integration with iOS devices and easy onboarding with the Bowers & Wilkins Music app – Google Fast Pair (GFP) support will follow shortly after launch. Once configured, users will be able to access the five-band Advanced EQ function within the app to fine-tune the sound of the Pi8 Wireless Earbuds to their taste.

Bowers & Wilkins Pi6 Wireless Earbuds

The mini-me of the two earbuds, the Bowers & Wilkins Pi6 Wireless Earbuds is built similarly to its sibling, the Pi8, but with some key differences. Unlike the Pi8, the Pi6 Wireless Earbuds sport the 12mm bio-cellulose drive unit that was used in the Px7 S2e over-ear headphones. Offering up to 8 hours of listening time with ANC on, the Bowers & Wilkins Pi6 Wireless Earbuds can get an additional 16 hours when charged in the Smartcase for a total of 24 hours of use. Just like its sibling, the Smartcase only needs 15 minutes of charge time to get 2 more hours of use.

Unlike the Pi8, the Pi6 Wireless Earbuds supports less Bluetooth codecs, with only aptX Adaptive, aptX Classic, AAC and SBC. It still has multipoint support for up to two devices and will also pair with the Bowers and Wilkins Music app with the same, if not, similar accessibility features as the Pi8.
