Whether you’re a professional music maker or just a casual every day music lover, Sony has you covered with the studio quality Closed Monitor MDR-M1. The headset will be made available in Malaysia pretty soon, so if you’re looking to upgrade, read on.

Sony MDR-M1 Closed Studio Monitor

Aiming to create a professional studio sound quality, the Closed Monitor MDR-M1 boasts high sound isolation, an exclusive driver, and a lightweight comfy design for extended use. The MDR-M1 has a unique driver, built to achieve ultra-wideband playback (5Hz – 80kHz) with a combination of a soft edge and a hard dome shape to accurately reproduce low and high frequencies, whilst maintaining sufficient volume, and to keep distortions low.

In order to eliminate ambient noises and sound leakage, the MDR-M1 has a closed acoustic structure. A tune port (Beat Response Control) acts as a ventilation hole to control low frequencies. The earpads are made with thick and low resilience padding for an airtight seal, and the lighter design will ensure that long use won’t be strenuous on the head and ears.

The MDR-M1 comes with two cables; a 6.3mm and 3.5mm stereo jack cables, both are detachable and replaceable. A plug adapter for the stereo mini-plug to stereo standard plug is also available with the purchase. The Sony Closed Monitor MDR-M1 also works alongside Sony’s 360 Virtual Mixing Environment service.

Pricing and Availability

The Closed Monitor MDR-M1 will be made available in Malaysia from September onwards and price at RM1,199. More info on the MDR-M1 can be found here.
