Windows devices… Well, when it comes to this particular OS, all we think about PCs and laptop that runs Windows 10 or earlier builds. There are phones that runs Windows. But have you ever seen a Tablet running Windows 10 Mobile? There is. Wisepad created their tablet called W7 which runs Windows 10 Mobile on a 7” scale. And This is the Unboxing and the First Impression on the Wisepad W7. Let’s not waste any time and get right into it.
Unboxing:
Over here, we have the Wisepad W7 in the box. On the box, you see the picture of the device and the label on the top right corner with the “Microsoft W7”. Pretty much clean.
On the right side, you’ll see the Wisepad Branding. And to the left, you’ll see the Serial Number, Color and other details about the device.
Bottom of this box, we have this motto, “ The phone that works like you PC.”. Well, that’s what we are going to find it out! Haha. On the back of the box, we have nothing else. Now let’s pop this box open.
As soon as you open the box, you’ll see the device itself. We will get back to it in a bit. Let’s find out what’s underneath the device.
Under the device, You’ll find the USB Adapter that let’s you to charge your Tablet and the Micro USB Cable which also will be used to transfer data / Charge the device and so on. And looks like, they went and pasted the serial numbers and other details… into the box. Which kinda seems to be weird but eh… The cable itself it’s just a normal ones and the USB Adapter… Well, here’s a picture where you could see the details. Output and stuff.
And finally the User Manual on how to set up your device.
On to the device:
After removing the device from the plastic, you get candy and … wait. Sorry, that’s a different plastic. Okay. So, you will find the device itself. So, we see that huge 7” inch display on the front. Above the screen, we have a not so small speaker grill, camera and the Sensors.
On to the top side, we have the SIM & SD Card slot, Headphone jack and the Micro USB port.
At the right side, I have the Volume Rocker and the Power button. Labelled too. Left side is just clean and there’s no other buttons.
Moving on to the back of the device, We have the 5MP Rear Facing camera with flash and the Windows Logo on the device.
On the bottom, we have the Wisepad branding with the “Designed by W.” And a trademark. We see four more logos on the device which is, 4G LTE, USB OTG Support, Windows 10 and an Office Mobile. Slightly below that, we have the Wise pad sticker with the serial number which got erased over the course of time. And beside it is the speaker.
Impression:
Well, as soon I held the device. It felt like as if I am holding a piece of slate. It has this metal surface kinda thing happening and then all of a sudden, there’s this spoiler alert. Rest of the part is built with plastic. If I had to be honest with you, It feels okay but not premium. But I really like the fact that it’s has this curved looking sides, which lets you hold comfortably with one hand. Good job there.
On the front, the display looked okay too. Because I was kinda disappointed with the fact that it uses a VGA panel but still it looks fine and the color looks crisp enough. And placing all the ports on the top, felt convenient because connecting my charger and the Headphone just to one side helped a lot. I haven’t got around the camera part but I will give my opinion on it in the full review.
And on the back, it’s weird how the speaker grill is small for a device huge which is almost the size of your hand. I have a feeling I am going to have a sad experience with the speaker part. But I hope it impresses me.
Well, that’s for now. But I will definitely cover in my full review which I will be posting it like a week later. It will be my daily driver for at least three days. So, stay tuned for more cool content. Follow me on my social network for more exclusive stuff and I will get back to you guys in my next post real soon! 🙂
