BlackBerry’s no name with a code name, Mercury finally has a name. And it goes by the name KeyONE. Which they unveiled in MWC earlier this month. It’s something something like the Bold but this time unlike the Priv which had a slider keyboard, it’s placed right below the screen. Just like the bold.

Let’s take a quick look at the specifications:

Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 2.0 GHz
Adreno 506
32GB; Expandable via microSD upto 2TB
1620 X 1080 IPS LCD with 433 ppi; 4.5”
Rear: 12MP PDAF Camera, f2.0
Front: 8MP Fixed Focus, f/2.2
3505 mAh; Supports QC 3.0
USB Type C: 3.1
Headphone Jack
Android Nougat 7.1
NFC, Physical Touch sensitive Keyboard with Fingerprint sensor, Convenience Key
Price Range
€599 (Europe), £499 (UK), $549 (US)

It’s nice to see something that blackberry is known for (Their Security and their Physical Keyboard) is still alive, with the KeyONE.

Taking a look at the phone itself in pictures, the phone looks solid and built like a tank. With that metal finish premium look and also that texture behind which if I’m not mistaken is something like the Priv which has this rubbery feel and gives you that super duper ultra grip that doesn’t slip out of your hands. Amazing.

One thing that I am curious about is their choice of processor, and also the price tag. But Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 is no slouch. Because it does perform well, but to know how it really does in our day to day life, I’d have to test it out in person. But good job there BlackBerry.

This phone is targeted at those who really love that BlackBerry feel and more to those who are in the Business line to keep their communication secure and so on. I’d love to try out the KeyONE for sure, once it’s available in Malaysia. 🙂

As always, thank you so much for reading this guys. Be sure to follow me on my Social Network and also stay tuned because there’s more to come. 🙂
