Xiaomi Malaysia finally released their Mi Note 2 here in Malaysia. Mi Note 2 is the successor to the Mi Note which was released quite some time ago. And I had the chance to try out their Mi Note 2 and this is the First Look and Impression on the device itself.

On the front of the device, we have this huge 5.7” OLED Display which looks gorgeous. Above the display, we have the usual stuff like the Speaker Earpiece, Front facing camera and the Sensors. Right below the display, we have the capacitive touch buttons and a clickable home button which is also a fingerprint sensor.

On one side, we have the Volume Rocker and the Power button and on the other side, we have the SIM tray. On top of the phone, we have the headphone jack and below it, we can see the USB type C port along with the downward facing speaker grill.

Behind the phone, we have the rear facing camera. Followed by a dual tone flash and the Mi Logo below.

If you’ve used the previous Mi note, you’ll notice a substantial improvement and change in design. And this time it totally feels different. It’s beautiful and elegant. The button placement is at the usual place and it’s easier to reach. The display looks pretty beautiful. The colors pop and it’s vivid. Holding the device in hand, it does feel premium and fragile at the same time as it’s covered with glass both on the front and back. And since the back is glass, you can see smudges.

In terms of specifications, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 with 6GB of RAM, 128GB Internal Storage. Has a 22.5 MP Rear Facing camera with Dual Tone Flash and a 8MP Front Facing Camera on the front. One of the other reasons why I love the Mi Note 2, is the inclusion of the Hi-Fi Chip that let’s you listen to Hi-Res Music on the go. It also supports all the global bands. Has NFC, Bluetooth v4.2 and so on.

Overall, it feels so good in the hands and definitely one of the devices that is up to my likings. It does share the same material outside with the Mi 5. And it’s not a bad thing. Mi Malaysia is retailing the Mi Note 2 for RM 2,499 and the variant available in Malaysia comes with a whooping 6GB RAM & 128GB Internal Storage. At the moment, I don’t think you could get a device like this at this price point from anyone else. Trust me, this is definitely a bang for the buck.

You can head over to Mi Malaysia’s official Lazada store or for those who live in Penang, it’s also available exclusively at the Mi Concept Store @ Queensbay Mall.

That’s been it guys. I’ll catch you guys later.
