After it’s big debut in CES 2017 earlier this year in January, the Tango & Daydream enabled device, Zenfone AR from Asus is now here in Malaysia. At the moment, this this the first device in the world that has the capability to render both Augmented Reality through Tango and Virtual Reality through Daydream.
Now taking a closer look at the specifications, the Zenfone AR packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 clocked in at 2.35GHz and it’s optimized specifically for Tango. You get a Adreno 530 GPU and it packs 8GB RAM and upto 128GB Storage. It packs a 5.7” WQHD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Now for the camera, we get 23MP with an aperture of f/2.0. It comes with a focal length of 27mm, 6p lens and features both 4-axis OIS and 3-axis EIS for taking steady pictures and stable videos. It features a Tri Tech System which consist of PDAF, Laser AF and Subject-tracking AF. And right at the back along with the camera is where you’ll find the Depth Sensing Rear Camera and Motion Tracking Rear Camera. This is where The Tango comes to play as it will be integrating the application with the hardware for the Tango. As of for the front, we get a 8MP camera for those selfie heads out there.
And DayDream, the Virtual Reality will let you take your content consumption up to the next level. With the WQHD Display, it will give you the best in class experience. Starting from Video, Games and so on.
For audio, it comes with a Hi-Res audio with DTS Headphone:X virtual 7.1 surround sound. Also has support for 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2. Packs a 3300 mAh battery with BoostMaster Fast Charging, Quick Charge 3.0 and PowerDelivery 2.0, which means you get charge your device upto 60% in 39 minutes. And yes, it comes with a headphone jack and also USB-C Port.
To kick things up a notch, the Zenfone AR will be running Android 7.0 with ASUS custom ZenUI 3.0 under the hood, which is amazing.
The Zenfone AR will be available starting from 4th July, for a price of RM 3,799 inclusive GST. And when it comes to the warranty, you get a 1-to-1 exchange which is exclusively available for the Zenfone AR. Do take note that its only valid within the 12 month.
