CES2018: Acer’s new Laptop Lineup for the 2018 is here!
Acer is obviously no stranger to unveiling really great products at CES2018. With that, this year they’ve announced their latest lineup for 2018. They announced 4 models at CES.
Acer ChromeBook 11
Starting off with the ChromeBook 11, which is their new Laptop that’s designed to power Chrome OS. The Chromebook 11 comes with a 11.6″ display and has a fanless design. One key feature about the ChromeBook 11 is the fact that the laptop now gives you up to 10 hours of battery life. Performance with this laptop looks decent from paper. It packs an Intel Celeron Processor with 4GB RAM on top of 16 or 32GB internal storage.
The Chromebook comes with 2 USB-C 3.1 ports and 2 USB 3.0, which means you don’t have to worry about carrying an extra dongle. The included MicroSD card slot is a lifesaver, as it not only help you to use it to transfer but also use it as an external memory. The display supports HDR, which means content will pop and gives you a lot more punch. Also you can pick up the touch or non-touch version.
Finally, it runs the latest Chrome OS. What makes the experience even better is the fact that it supports Google Play completely. So, that’s a good sign.
Acer Spin 3
Moving on to the Windows Counterpart, let’s start off with the Spin 3. This particular laptop is a foldable, where you can use it in any modes you want. The Spin 3 is now powered with Intel’s latest 8th Gen Core processor. It also packs a battery that can last upto 12 hours. The device also comes with Acer TrueHarmony where it gives really good sound quality through the two front facing speakers.
Acer Swift 7
The Swift 7 on the other hand is their gorgeous and sexy looking ultrabook that has the potential to steal your attention. It packs a unibody aluminium chassis and gives the premium look. It also comes with an LED Backlit keyboard which you can use it to type in the dark too. It also comes with some impressive specification like 256GB of PCIe SSD and 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. One weird thing about the Swift 7 is the fact that it’s still powered with the 7th Gen Intel Core i Processors.
The Swift 7 supports eSIM in selected countries and also has a nano SIM card slot to stay connected to the network at all time. With WiFi, you’ll be able to get super fast download and upload speeds thanks to the 802.11ac wireless with 2×2 MIMO under the hood. Despite it’s slim profile, the laptop has a battery that can last up to 10 hours.
Acer Nitro 5
Last but not least, Acer has also unveiled it’s new Gaming Laptop Nitro 5 with AMD Ryzen under the hood! This is something I am personally pumped up for. The Nitro 5 packs an AMD Radeon RX560 graphics which gives faster rendering, improved lighting and more to give the best experience possible. It packs an SSD upto 512GB and DDR4 RAM up to 32GB, so expect the laptop to have it’s NOS on at all times.
The Nitro 5 has a totally new design that looks surprisingly nice. It has a matte, crimson red hinge that gives a very stealthy and appealing look to the eyes. The 15.6″ Full HD IPS display makes content pop and I hope it does. They’ve also took the audio up a notch with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology. As it’s a gaming laptop, expect the laptop to feature adequate amount of ports like USB-C, HDMI 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet port.
Pricing and Availability
The Acer Chromebook 11 line will start at $249, which roughly converts to RM 990++ ringgit. The Acer Spin 3 will retail for $599 and Acer Swift 7 will start at $1,699.
The gaming beast, Acer Nitro 5 will start at $799 for the base version. We have no idea how much it’s going to cost in Malaysia, but when we do, we will let you know. Till then, be sure to like our Facebook page for more CES 2018 coverage like this.
