At CES2018, we get the opportunity to take a closer look at a lot of technology product. What makes the whole show worthwhile is the concepts from big name companies. Razer, the company who brought us the Project Valerie last year, brought us their new concept. Project Linda, is their new Concept that wow-ed everyone at CES and here’s why it did.

Razer Project Linda

1/5

The idea behind Project Linda has been executed before by other company. That is connecting your smartphone to a dock to give a desktop experience. But what Razer did with this Project was different. Razer made a Laptop Dock (also called as Lapdock) where the Razer Phone connects to the laptop and gives a mobile PC experience. The fact that it’s really portable is sure is executed really well.

The docked phone acts as an intelligent touchpad and also uses the dual speakers for audio. The laptop packs a 13.3″ QHD Touchscreen display with 120Hz experience which helps you use multiple application and so on. The Phone display on the other hand acts as a secondary display. It can be use for cases like Photoshop editing and more. One thing that the Razer Phone user was disappointed about is the lack of Chroma RGB. Guess what, the laptop actually has RGBs that programmable.

If you’re the kind of person who’d prefer an external mouse, you can always connect it via bluetooth and use it as well. My personal favorite about this Project is the fact that the Lapdock has 200GB of internal Storage. The lapdock also acts as an powerpack for the smartphone. It also comes with 2 USB C and an headphone jack, which sure is a great thing.

In terms of design, there’s nothing much to say because it actually looks like the Razer Blade that we all are in love with. Well, at least I am. It sure is a concept that stole a lot of attention. But one thing about it that’s holding me back that, it’s still a concept, just like the Project Valerie we saw last year. We have no clue when it will hit the consumer market but when it does, it is going to be an expensive dock for your Razer Phone.

P.S – Razer, This is random. But if you’re looking for a name for the final product of Project Valerie, name it Razer Blade Cerebrus. Because three head, three screens. Geddit? Just sayin’.
