Sony has announced its new line of BRAVIA OLED TVs, and the latest one happens to be the A8F series. This is a follow up to the A1E series launched last year.

High Visual Quality and Awe-Inspiring Sound

The A8F series comes with Sony’s 4K HDR picture processor, the X1 Extreme, and also Acoustic Surface technology. According to Sony, this will deliver high visual quality along with awe-inspiring sound as the screen resonates with sound. Being an OLED TV, one can expect the new series to deliver pictures with deep blacks, and also realistic colours. There are 8 million OLED pixels on the screen, which should deliver extremely crisp content on the display and a wide viewing angle. The A8F series comes in two sizes, being 65″ and 55″.

4K X-Reality PRO is used together with Sony’s algorithm of reality creation database for any content. This results in stunning detail whenever you view content, be it TV broadcasting, DVD, digital photos or Blu-ray Disc. As for the design of the TV itself, Sony took a minimalist approach to it. The TV comes with a minimised stand, allowing it to be placed in a wide range of locations. The A8F also comes with Chromecast built-in, making it an Android TV. This allows users to stream content from their smartphone with ease, and access the Play Store on the TV. Also, it supports HDR 10, Hybrid Log-Gamma and Dolby Vision.

The New X9000F & X8500F Series

Sony is also expanding its LCD screen TV line-up, with the introduction of the new X9000F series with 4K HDR. It is pretty similar to the A8F series in terms of features, except it sports a LCD screen instead of an OLED one. It comes in sizes of 85’’, 75’’, 65’’, 55’’ and 49’’, and are all equipped with the X1 Extreme processor. The larger the screen size, the more noticeable the motion blur. However, Sony has come up with a solution for this with X-Motion Clarity technology. This will keep fast action images clear and smooth, and loss in brightness will be kept to a minimum. Dolby Vision is also supported and like the A8F, it happens to be an Android TV.

As for the X8500F series, it comes with all the features found in the X9000F lineup, except for Dolby Vision. It comes in sizes of 75”, 65”, 55”, 49’’ and 43’’ Class models. It also sports an ultra slim design with a narrow aluminium frame and clean cable management.

The W800F Series

The W800F Series is comprised of Full HD HDR TVs and packs all the features available on the X8500F series. It will be available for purchase in two sizes, including 49″ and 43″ Class models. It also features ClearAudio+ which automatically adjusts sound setting for a better listening experience. X-Protection PRO is also available, which makes the TVs more durable towards dust, lightning, electrical surges and humidity.

Pricing and Availability

At the moment, the availability and prices of the aforementioned TV series aren’t known yet, but we’ll keep you up to date once Sony makes an official announcement.
