Sony has just added three smartphones to its lineup, all of which were unveiled at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The devices in question happen to be the Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra and the affordable Xperia L2. All three handsets happen to be mid-range and entry-level offerings from the Japanese smartphone manufacturer, and if you would like to know the details about these phones, do read on.
Sony Xperia XA2 & XA2 Ultra
The Sony Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra are the successors of the Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra which were announced in March of 2017. In terms of specs, the two devices are similar in certain aspects, including being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, and running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
As for the differences, the Xperia XA2 packs a 5.2-inch display while the Xperia XA2 Ultra comes with a 6.0-inch screen. Memory wise, the Xperia XA2 comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage, compared to the Xperia XA2 Ultra which comes with 4GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of storage.
As for optics, both handsets sport a 23-megapixel rear camera, coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. However, the Xperia XA2 Ultra comes with an additional 16-megapixel shooter on its front with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). When it comes to the battery department, the Xperia XA2 sports a 3,300 mAh battery, and the Xperia XA2 Ultra a 3,580 mAh battery.
Both phones also come with support for Qnovo Adaptive Charging. The two devices will be available in a number of colours, including Black, Blue, or Silver. There is also a fourth colour option, being Pink and Gold, for the Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra respectively. At the moment, pricing is unknown and the handsets are set to go on sale in early February, though local launch dates haven’t been confirmed.
Sony Xperia L2
The Sony Xperia L2 happens to be an entry-level offering and is the successor of the Xperia L1. In terms of specs, it comes equipped with a 5.5-inch HD display, with very minimal bezels at the sides. Memory wise, it features 3GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage. The whole package is powered by an unnamed processor, though we do know it is a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.5GHz.
For optics, it is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera on the rear, while selfies are handled by an 8-megapixel shooter. The front-facing camera happens to come with a 120-degree super-wide-angle lens, which will aid in group pictures. Other features include a 3,300 mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor. Unlike the Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra, the Xperia L2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It will be available globally in February in colour options of Black, Gold, and Pink.
