Qualcomm revealed its latest and most efficient processor, the Snapdragon 845 about a month back. This is the CPU which will be running on most flagship smartphones of 2018 from the top manufacturers. While it is already widely known which brands will make use of the processor , a leaked list of Snapdragon 845 powered devices has been leaked online. The comprehensive list of handsets first appeared on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo.
According to the List
According to the list, the Snapdragon 845 will make its first appearance in the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, both of which are expected to be launched in February, followed by the LG G7 in the same month. The next manufacturer to make use of the chipset is expected to be Xiaomi, with the launch of the Mi 7 in April. HTC will unveil the U12 in May, and OnePlus will use the CPU in the OnePlus 6, which launches in June. Chinese manufacturer ZTE is also expected to use it in the nubia Z18, and Sony in the Xperia XZ Pro-A.
In the third and fourth quarter of the year, the Snapdragon 845 will be used in flagship phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, the LG V40, and also the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Motorola’s high-end smartphone of the year, the Moto Z 2019 is also expected to be powered by the aforementioned processor. Other devices rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest offering include the nubia Z18S, Sony Xperia XZ2, HTC U12+, OnePlus 6T and also the clamshell phone from Samsung, the W2019.
While this may seem like a large number of devices which will sport the top of the line chipset, it is likely there are many more which weren’t included in the list. In 2017, over 40 smartphones were powered by the Snapdragon 835, the predecessor of the Snapdragon 845. Manufacturers such as ASUS, Nokia and Essential are also expected to use the Snapdragon 845 to power their smartphones.
