iflix is set to release a new original comedy special titled “Jon Atherton: Disoriential”. As the title suggests, the comedy special features comic Jon Atherton.

First Original Comedy Special From The Streaming Service!

Jon Atherton: Disoriental follows the success of “Oi! Jaga Mulut”, “Hoy! Bibig Mo” and “Oi! Jaga Lambe”, stand-up comedy series. In Jon Atherton: Disoriental, Jon touches various topics including racism, eating dog and also ladyboys. It is set to be released on iflix in mid-2018, and joins other original programs from the company. This includes the Malay drama series, KL Gangster: Underworld, and also Coconuts TV, a documentary.

For those who don’t know, Jon Atherton is an Australian comedian who has a successful career in television and theatre in multiple locations. Jon is also fluent in multiple language and lived in Asia for two decades. This stay in the largest continent in the world is evident in his comedic style.

Filming for Jon Atherton: Disoriental took place in early February in Kuala Lumpur and the set featured a live audience. While there was no charge for tickets, attendees were encouraged to donate to Asylum Access. The international non-profit organisation dedicates itself to making refugee rights a reality in places such as Asia, Africa, and also Latin America. Asylum Access goals complements the themes from the show, including globalisation and identity politics.
