
After all the endless rumors about Samsung’s upcoming device, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ has been unpacked at Mobile World Congress 2018. Let’s see what is up with the new devices this time.
Both of the devices
Now there’s only few things that makes the device different from each other. Here’s what you get across both the devices. Both the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ packs the all-new Samsung Exynos 9810 processor or Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (depending which market you’re in). It comes with 64GB UFS 2.1 Storage under the hood where you can expand the storage upto 400GB with an Micro SD Card. On the front, you’ll find the 8MP AF Camera with an aperture of f/1.7. It comes with USB type C and also support’s Qi Charging.

Not only that, the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ now not only comes with IP68 Water Proof Rating, it also boasts a new Stereo Speakers that’s tuned by AKG, which also supports Dolby Atmos. It comes with Bluetooth 5.0. As of for security, you’ll also find cool stuff like Iris Scanner, Fingerprint sensor that’s now in the middle as well.
Here’s what Makes the S9 different from S9+
Samsung Galaxy S9

The Samsung Galaxy S9 features a 5.8” QHD+ Display in the same 18.5:9 ratio which we saw with the previous iteration. As for the camera, the S9 comes with a 12MP Sensor with Variable Apertures: f/1.5 and f/2.4 respectively. Under the hood, you’ll find 4GB of RAM and to power up the device, it packs a 3000 mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy S9+

The Samsung Galaxy S9+ on the other hand is the bigger brother of the S9. This device comes with 6.2” QHD+ Display in 18.5:9 aspect ratio. As for the camera, the bigger Galaxy S9+ is equipped with dual cameras, with 12MP each. Now the primary sensor has the dual Variable Apertures: f/1.5 and f/2.4 whereas the secondary sensor comes with a fixed f/2.4 aperture. Under the hood, you’ll find 6GB RAM just like the Note8 last year. As for the battery, it has 500mAh extra than the S9, making it 3500 mAh.
On top of this we have other interesting features like AR Emoji where the camera captures an image of the person and creates custom emoji stickers that gives personal feel to all the messages.

Not only the Galaxy S9 & S9+ feature the top-of-the-line cameras, it also features a new Super Slow Motion Feature where you’ll be able to shoot videos upto 960fps. You can even set the video as your wallpaper.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be offered in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and a new hue, Lilac Purple. Goodbye, Orchid Gray. You’ll be missed.
Pricing and Availability

As of for the US Market, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be sold for $719.99 whereas the Galaxy S9+ on the other hand will be sold for $839.99. That roughly converts to RM 2821.28 for the S9 and RM 3291.50. But this is just a rough estimation according to the exchange rate. The pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will start from today, 25th February, 2018 and it will be available starting in March 16, 2018 in select markets.
Update on Malaysia’s Pricing:
The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be available in one configuration – 64GB and it will be sold for RM 3,299. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ on the other hand will come in 3 configurations – 64, 128 and 256GB respectively. Now the S9+ will be sold for RM 3,799, RM 3,999 and RM 4,399 respectively.
