11street has announced a number of interesting facts regarding women sellers on its platform in 2017 and the results are pretty positive.
Majority Of Sellers Are Women

The majority of sellers on Malaysia’s number two online platform are women, making up 56 percent of all sellers. These entrepreneurs are are involved in various product categories, with 30 percent of them in Health & Beauty. Items include cosmetics, fragrance, dietary supplements, and also skin & personal care items.
11street has had a vision to guide sellers to reach their full potential, particularly female entrepreneurs through the 11street Academy. It has paid off so far, as many of the women entrepreneurs have outperformed their benchmarks, and sellers in general have seen an increase of 15 to 20 percent in sale revenue within six months of completing the course. Furthermore, some women sellers have even doubled or tripled their sales performance. One of the women entrepreneurs who have seen success on the platform is Agnes Chua. She runs an online grocer app called JOCOM, which connects rural farmers, traders, along with vendors, to customers via 11street. Since joining the e-commerce site, Agnes has seen a whopping 300 percent growth in her business.
Influx Of Women In Male-Dominated Categories
Another piece of good news from 11street is the increase in number of women in male-dominated categories comprising 7 percent of the industry. A few of the categories include electronic appliances, audio & gaming, and also home improvement. Sharon Goh is one of the notable female entrepreneurs who have broken the gender stereotype in the industry. Sharon happens to be the Chief Operating Officer of IT Comp and is involved in Mobile, IT & Electronics. Moving on, is Ong Mei Jye, the director of N4 Camera Store. By partnering with 11street, the store has managed a turnover of 20 percent in its group business.
