A while back, Asus unveiled the FX503 – which is a gaming laptop under the Asus Branding. It was their entry level gaming laptop that has a decent specification for those who are looking for a Gaming Laptop that doesn’t break the bank. Earlier last week, Asus unveiled the TUF Gaming Series. Now the FX Series will fall under this new category. Following that, they unveiled their successor to the FX503. Meet the FX504, which now runs on Intel’s latest 8th Generation Processor.
Asus TUF FX504: Under the hood
The Asus TUF FX504 sports the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i processors under the hood. Following that, you get 4GB RAM which you can upgrade it at the nearest stores. As for the storage, the top tier models have opted in for a dual memory – 128GB Primary SSD and a 1TB SSHD. The first two entry level models just comes with a 1TB SSHD.
On to the important part of any gaming laptop, the graphics card. The Asus TUF FX504 houses a NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 with most of it’s variant. Whereas the top-tier i7 powered FX504 gets a 1050Ti. The display with the i5 is a TN Panel but the rest of the models come with a IPS Panel that gives out 250 nits and 60Hz.
As for the body itself, you don’t see a lot of difference as it’s super identical to it’s predecessor that has a plastic construction – which doesn’t feel cheap but alright.
Pricing and Availability
The Asus TUF FX504 comes in 4 different configuration. Starting off with the lowest – i5 variant with TN Panel will go for RM 3,299. Next up is the i7 Variant with 1TB SSHD and IPS panel will go for RM 3,899. Thirdly, we have the i7 variant with 128GB SSD and 1TB SSHD which will go for RM 4,199. and finally the top tier which sports the 1050Ti, will go for RM 4,399.
