After many months filled with leaks of HTC’s flagship smartphone for the year, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has finally taken the wraps of the device. It happens to come in the form of the HTC U12 Plus, and it is definitely packed to the brim with hardware and features.
True Flagship Internals

The HTC U12 Plus features a 6.1-inch QHD+ Super LCD 6 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. This results in a 2880 x 1440 resolution, and many would be glad to know that a notch isn’t included. Additionally, the display comes with support for HDR 10, DCI-P3 as well as sRGB modes.
Under the hood, the handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor, clocked at 2.6 GHz. Memory wise, the HTC U12 Plus runs on 6GB of RAM coupled with 64GB / 128GB of expandable storage. The microSD card slot is able to hold a 2TB SD card. Keeping the lights on is a 3,500 mAh non-removable battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
Moving to the back of the device, a dual-camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 16-megapixel telephoto lens can be found. Meanwhile, selfies are handled by two 8-megapixel sensors with an aperture of f/2.0, and it boasts bokeh mode. For software, the HTC U12 Plus runs on Android 8.0 Oreo along with HTC Sense UI. It is also big on audio, with 3D audio coupled with 4 microphones included, and the much loved HTC BoomSound. Like most flagships, the handset has IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
New Range Of Colours & Edge Sense 2
The HTC U12 Plus comes with Liquid Surface design, giving the back of the device premium finishing. It also comes in three colours, including translucent blue, ceramic black, and flame red. The internals of the phone can be partially seen through the translucent blue rear panel. Also, the pressure-sensitive buttons are included for Edge Sense 2. Apparently, the buttons will feel more interactive and easier to use.
