If you have read our leak on the Oppo Find X, you’d notice something unusual. It’s the fact that the smartphone has a very unrealistic design in a whole. Well, guess what – that unrealistic design is real and it’s here. After a long 5 years, they have finally unveiled their true flagship smartphone – The Oppo Find X is here and honestly, it’s the phone that can save Oppo right now. It’s right on time.

Specification

Let’s talk about the Specification first. Under the hood, the Oppo Find X packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with AI Engine coupled with 8GB RAM. As for the storage, the device is configured for a whooping 256GB of internals. The device uses a USB-C Port to charge and with the new Super VOOC Charge, you will be able to charge that 3,730 mAh battery completely in less than 45 minutes. Just like their previous Oppo Smartphones, the Find X runs Android 8.1 on top of their custom UI, ColorOS.

The device does not have a fingerprint sensor on the back or under the display, which they could have but it’s alright. Instead it actually has a 3D Face Scanner that maps your face and unlocks based on it. The Headphone jack is gone too, which is kind of sad but honestly when you look at the phone – there’s no space at all – so it’s understandable. It has a dual SIM Slot with Global LTE Support – yes, it means that the phone is hitting literally every single market all around the world.

Display and Camera

Yes, possibly two of the most interesting implementation in a smartphone we’ve ever seen in the market. On the front, the Oppo Find X houses a 6.4 inch display with a ratio of 19:9. This time they have opted in for a OLED Panel that blows your socks off with colors and it’s literally notch less. Oppo has managed to break that screen-to-body ratio and this device has a ratio of 93%.

By now you might be wondering, where is the camera? Well, Oppo has beautifully hid that right in the middle of the phone. It has a small motorized slab that opens and closes as the camera or the Face Unlock is launched. On the back, the device has a dual camera setup – with a primary 16MP and a secondary 20MP.

They announced a new camera technology – 5x Dual Camera Zoom. What this camera does is that it uses a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. The housing for the telephoto lens applies a periscope-style structure, giving the lens sufficient space for a deep zoom with its angle rotated 90 degrees.

On the front, it has a 25MP Camera for all-things selfie. The whole module retracting happens in 0.5s which is fast and very quick.

I have to say – I am finally Impressed with what Oppo did here. It feels like the Oppo Find 7 and N series gave birth to this one.

There’s even a Lamborghini edition where it has this carbon fibre texture under the glass and yes, with the Lamborghini Logo on it.

Pricing and Availability

The Oppo Find X will hit the market sooner than you think. It will be available in two different colors – Red and Blue. With that being said, the Oppo Find X is priced at 999 Euros for the Normal version. Whereas the Lamborghini Version will cost about 1699 Euros. Yes, it is pricey once you convert it to the Malaysian ringgit but hey, who knows – it could be a bit more affordable in Malaysia. 🙂
