Acer Malaysia recently launched a number of Chrome OS devices in the country. This includes the Chromebook Tab 10, Chromebook Spin 11, and Chromebook 11.

Chromebook Tab 10

The Chromebook Tab 10 happens to be the worlds first Chrome-OS based tablet and is targeted at students. For specs, it sports a 9.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Powering it is a Samsung OP1 chipset mated to 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. On top of that, Acer has included a battery-less EMR stylus by Wacom. During our hands-on with the product, the stylus proved to be extremely inaccurate, and we hope this will be solved in the future. Keeping the lights on is a 4,500mAh battery which Acer claims will provide 9 hours of battery life. The Chromebook Tab 10 retails for RM1,299.

Chromebook Spin 11

As its name suggests, the Chromebook Spin 11 is a 360-degrees convertible laptop. It comes in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM + 32GB of ROM, while the other packs 8GB of RAM + 64GB of ROM. Both models are powered by an Intel Celeron N3450 processor. However, only the 8GB variant comes with a Wacom stylus.

An interesting feature of the new convertible is the inclusion of a webcam on top of its keyboard. This will allow users to make use of it while it’s in tablet mode, which is a pretty neat inclusion. Also, another webcam is embedded on top of the display, bringing it to a total of two cameras. It is also a rather robust convertible, with a spill-resistant keyboard and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. As for pricing, the Chromebook Spin 11 is available for RM 1,399 for the base model, and RM 1,699 for the higher spec variant.

Chromebook 11

The Chromebook 11 is a more traditional Chrome OS laptop and it too runs on an Intel Celeron N3450 processor. Memory wise, it packs 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Acer has designed this machine to be an extremely durable one, and it’s certified MIL-STD 810F. This means it is resistant to dust and sand, and is able to survive drops up to 122cm high. Also, with a honeycomb design, the Chromebook 11 is able to withstand weights up to 60kg on it. On top of that, its keyboard is spill resistant, so it is rather safe to keep your cup next to your workstation.

This highly durable machine is available for RM 1,099, which is a rather affordable price tag.
