Nokia has been on a roll in 2018, and has launched a multitude of devices at various price points. Now, the latest handset from the Finnish manufacturer to launch in Malaysia happens to be the Nokia 3.1.
Nokia 3.1: Budget Android One Smartphone
The follow up to the original Nokia 3 which was launched last year, the Nokia 3.1 or sometimes called Nokia 3 2018, is an Android One device. This means that the handset will receive regular monthly security updates for the next three years. Meanwhile, OS updates are guaranteed for the next two years.
As for specs, it features a 5.2-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 chipset. Memory wise, it runs on 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card up to 128GB. When it comes to cameras, the Nokia 3.1 sports a 13MP camera on its rear, while selfies are handled by an 8MP shooter. The front-facing camera happens to sport a wide 84.6-degree field of view which should allow you to fit more people in your selfies. Keeping the lights on is a rather small 2,990mAh battery which should suffice for a days use thanks to the small screen. This battery can be juiced up via a MicroUSB, though no fast charging is included. Being an Android One device, it runs on the latest software, being Android 8.1 Oreo.
Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 3.1 is already available for purchase from authorised Nokia stores throughout Malaysia for RM655. It’s currently available in three distinct colours, which are Blue/Copper, Black/Chrome, and White/Iron.
