Back in May, Mobvoi announced their new Ticwatch Pro and now, it’s finally going on sale for an interesting price tag. Ticwatch Pro is their premium segment of smartwatch which stands out from their previous Ticwatch S, E, Classic and Active.
If you remember Casio’s Pro-Trek Smartwatch where it has a dual display happening – the TicWatch Pro has a similar technology. The TicWatch boasts a Layered display – a combination of LCD Screen and AMOLED Screen. They claimed that their tech will extend the battery life to 5 to 30 day in just a single charge. Just like their previous smartwatch, the new TicWatch Pro is powered by Wear OS – which means you’ll be able to connect to your smartphone and stay connected.
The watch sports two different mode – Essential Mode where it becomes more of a fitness centric watch with high sunlight visibility and a 30-day battery life. The Smart Mode is where the Wear OS comes into play. It gives about 2-5 days of battery life.
In terms of material, the TicWatch Pro has a case that’s constructed out of carbon fiber reinforced with high strength nylon. Paired with Italian leather and silicone layer combined to make sure the watch withstands, maintaining a premium look at the very same time. Yes, it is IP68 certified, making it water and dust proof.
Under the hood, the TicWatch Pro comes with a GPS tracker built-in, heart-rate monitor, pedometer, calories counter and even a speed & cadence monitor. We have nothing much to say about Wear OS as it is possibly one of the best options you could get. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 with 512MB RAM and has a built in memory of 4GB. You can use it at Google Pay terminals with the NFC. As for connection, it happens via Bluetooth 4.2 and has WiFi support as well.
Pricing and Availability
The TicWatch Pro is now on sale and it comes in two different finishes – Shadow Black and Liquid Metal Silver. You can pick one for USD 250, which roughly converts to RM 1,008 ~. For that price tag, it’s not bad and it looks pretty good on the paper. With the watch, you’ll get the manual and a charge dock.
