Following the announcement of the Asus Zenbook Pro 15, which was the star of the show – they showcased their new Vivobook S530U. This is the successor to the Vivobook which we reviewed a long while back and it now has a punchy color to it, making it chic.

Asus Vivobook S530U

What has changed?

1/6

Asus has revamped the design from the ground up. It does share a bit of a similar design on the outside but for the most part of the laptop has changed. The Vivobook now comes in 4 different color – that matches your personality and your taste. My personal favorite one will be the Green or Teal color, so to speak.

With that, the new Vivobook has a very interesting hinge. They call it the ErgoLift. The moment you lift the display, it lifts the body up in a way as if it’s placed on an incline and then give this more of a geometric angle to it. This helps in better cooling and the elevated keyboard gives you a much more ergonomic experience you can ask from a laptop.

Other than that, the bezels on the Vivobook is now even more thinner and gives you a lot immersive experience. It houses a 15.6” FHD IPS Display on the front. The keyboard design as also changed and now you get these keys with a curved finish on top and looks a lot funkier. To make things interesting, it also has a fingerprint sensor to make your access to your laptop now even more secure.

As for the ports, on the left side you’ll find 2 full size USB-A ports with a MicroSD Card slot. On the other side, you have a DC IN, another full-size USB-A, HDMI 2.0, a USB-C port and the headphone Jack. The speakers on this laptop is located at the bottom.

Moving on to the specification. The Vivobook comes with up to two storages in it: up to a 256GB SSD + a 1TB HDD. The processor under the Vivobook is either an Intel Core i5 or an i7 coupled with 4GB RAM. As for graphics, it comes with a decent NVIDIA MX150 that could still allow you to play some decent game titles.

Pricing and Availability

The Asus Vivobook S530U will be available in three different variants. Starting off, the Base variant with Core i5, 1TB + 128GB is priced at RM 2,999. The Core i5 with 1TB+256GB is priced at RM3,299. Finally, the i7 Variant with 1TB+256GB is priced at RM 3,899.
