Lenovo has officially launched its new Legion lineup in Malaysia, and its rather impressive. Like last year, the main highlight is the Legion Y5 series, with the latest being the Legion Y530.

Lenovo Legion Y530: Impressive specs, affordable price tag

1/8

The Lenovo Legion Y530 packs pretty great specs, including a 15.6-inch display with a near-edgeless display. This Full HD IPS display has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and can be as bright as 300 nits. This 2.3 kg laptop has a soft-touch keyboard, which is backlit. Cooling has also been improved with a dual-channel cooling system. It comes with rotational fan blades to improve airflow by 16 percent. Overall, this has resulted in a system which is 10 percent cooler to the predecessor.

On the inside, the Legion Y530 runs on an Intel Core i5-8300H processor, 8GB of RAM, and 1TB of HDD storage. Meanwhile, graphics are handled by a Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU with 2GB of dedicated RAM. There’s also an upgraded version sporting an Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB of RAM, and an 256GB SSD. Like the base version, it too runs on a Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU with 4GB of RAM. As for pricing, the i5 variant retails for RM 3,599, while the i7 version is available for RM 5,699.

More to come by years-end

At the moment, only the Legion Y530 is available for purchase. However, during the launch, Lenovo introduced a number of other things. This includes the more powerful Legion Y730 laptop which happens to be the first gaming laptop with Dolby Atmos Speaker System and Dolby Sound Radar. This should result in superior sound quality, be it from headphones or the built-in speakers.

The Lenovo Legion Cube and Tower were introduced two, resulting in a total of four products from the two categories. The Lenovo Legion C530 Cube and C730 Cube are small but powerful, and are for gamers who need a lightweight machine. As their name suggests, the Lenovo Legion T530 Tower and T730 Tower are larger machines. The T530 features red lighting behind its thermal venting, while the T730 has an RGB lighting system.

Pricing for the aforementioned products are not available at the moment, but do stay tuned as we’ll report on these prices when they’re made known.
