After taking a look at the Mi Malaysia post on Mi 8, it is official. The Xiaomi Mi 8 is finally available here in Malaysia officially.
Mi 8: Newest Xiaomi Flagship
The Mi 8 is Xiaomi’s new Flagship smartphone that came out months back and it happens to be their best smartphone till date. Unde the hood, it powers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with AI Engine and a Adreno 630 graphics to go with it. On the back, it has a telephoto camera setup, a dual 12MP sensor with telephoto capability. On the front, it houses a 20MP Front facing camera with an AI powered beautify mode.
As for the screen, it has a 6.21” Full HD AMOLED Display in the 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch up top and a chin at the bottom. The phone houses a 3400 mAh battery and also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 – giving you the ability to charge the phone from zero to 50 in less than 30 minutes. The Mi 8 happens to feature a dual frequency GPS to make sure that the navigation is a lot accurate and precise.
Finally, it is one of the Xiaomi phones to feature a Face ID like scanner which uses dedicated sensors to unlock via Face Unlock – which we will talk about when we get our hands on one of these baby to review and so on.
Pricing and Availability
The Mi 8 will be available in two different configurations: 6GB+64GB which will go for RM 1599 and 6GB+128GB which will go for RM 1899. With that said, the base configuration will be available from the 16th August on Lazada and Shopee whereas the Higher variant will be available on 18th August at the Authorized Mi Stores only – for the time being.
