Huawei Malaysia just recently announced that they are bringing in the Matebook X and the Matebook D to the Malaysian Market. The kind folks over at Huawei invited over to take a closer look at their new offerings. In this article, we are going to share more about the upcoming Matebook X Pro and Matebook D.
Matebook X Pro
The Matebook X Pro is their premium high end Huawei Laptop they have ever made. In fact, it does even feel like one. You’ll see that it has a very clean finish inside and out. On the outside, you’ll see that it has the Huawei Logo and nothing else. It comes in this subtle grey finish that screams premium. Despite the laptop being super thin already, they have managed to cram in a Full Size USB port on the right and two USB-C Ports and a Headphone Combo Jack on the other side.
Looking at the keyboard layout, it looks like the laptop has a well thought out key distance. These keys are a low travel chiclet styled keyboard with has very short actuation points. Beside the keyboard, we’ll find the speakers and a humongous trackpad at the bottom. On the top right, you’ll see the Power button. It also doubles as a Fingerprint sensor. Talking about the speakers – the Matebook X Pro has a Quad Speaker setup that claims to offer good sound quality. It has support for Dolby Atmos too.
The Matebook X Pro has a insanely sharp 3K LTPS display with a resolution of 3000 X 2000. It has a pixel count of 260 per inch. The colors on the display is super sharp and stands out, thanks to the ultra thin bezel and the 100% sRGB color gamut coverage. It also doubles as a touch screen display too. You might be wondering, where’s the front facing camera. Huawei has designed the Front Camera to hide in plain sight. It’s located on the keyboard and you have to press on it to launch it. Pretty cool ey?
The laptop is powered with the latest Intel Core i7/i5 Processor with a NVIDIA GeForce MX150.
The Matebook D is an affordable offering from Huawei. The build quality on this is still premium enough to stand out. Once again, it rocks a clean finish that definitely stands out. On the outside, it has a Huawei Logo again. On one side, we have a USB C Port, a HDMI 2.0 and a Full Size USB. On the other side, it has a Headphone Jack and a Full Size USB port.
If you notice the keyboard, it’s pretty much the same as the Matebook X Pro and the speakers are located at the side. The trackpad on the other hand is a bit smaller and but still easier to navigate the cursor around. Yes, this laptop has a Fingerprint sensor as well. The Matebook D has a Full HD IPS Display on the front and it isn’t a touchscreen panel – which is completely alright. As for the processor, the Matebook D uses a 7th Generation Intel Core i Processor.
