It’s no surprise that Televisions have evolved a long way – from that huge box-shaped TVs to the ultrathin TV which packs a ton of technology under the hood with a humongous display that looks impressive and immersive. Speaking of such TVs, Samsung invited us to take a closer look at their creation – which is the QLED TV up close. So, in this article, we will be sharing our impression on how good the TV is.
Samsung covers 4 different aspects of this TV with the Q letter. There’s – Q Pictures, Q Style and Q Smart.
QLED TVs from Samsung has this ultra thin bezel – it looks almost little to no bezel if you ask me. The display let alone gives the best immersive feel possible and I am genuienely impressed. The colors on a QLED panel is rather contrasty and sure packs a punch without no doubt. This is all possible because of the technology itself. Quantum Dot is a technology that is being used in this displays. What is offers is that it has the capability to show brighter images and cover a wider color gamut. These displays has the potential to hit almost 2000 nits and covers a 100% of the DCI-P3 Color space. Which is super interesting. To make it a lot more interesting, these TVs also have the support for HDR 10 – what this does is produce realistic content that is super immersive at the very same time. Which also means that Samsung QLED TV has support for Dolby Vision which is super fun. It’s like watching movies at theatres but you do it at home instead.
Another thing about Samsung QLED TVs is that it packs tons of features. Two features that we personally liked was the fact that if you were to use a console on their QLED TV, you have an opportunity to play Games with Freesync enabled. The title FreeSync is very popular among gamers because it offers little to none screen tearing and has the smoothest frames possible. This TV has the capability to do it so. The other one is their MagicScreen capability. Now, one of the things about TV is that when you turn it off, it just looks like a hole in the wall but what Samsung has done is – why not make it an art piece instead? So, with this particular feature, you can now have what ever wallpaper you like on screen and make it blend along with the wall itself. Pretty neat.
Setting up a TV can be a chore but the Samsung QLED TV has a Invisible connection where you can tuck the whole setup box where you connect your BluRay, Console and so on at a completely different place if you want to. It is a dream of an OCD and I sure am loving it. One other thing to know about QLED TVs in general, is how they are known for its value. There is a reason why it has an hefty price tag. After testing the TV for long hours, it had no burn-in issues which is a huge plus and the quality itself is pristine. In terms of connectivity, all you need is their One Remote – which is basically an One for all, All for One solution. With this remote, you can control pretty much anything – your TV, Player, Speakers and so on.
Finally, IoT. Samsung is huge on IoT and that means integrating everything seamlessly and providing the best experience possible. This is where their SmartThings come in place. Consumers can take control of their Smarthome device at one place.
It’s fascinating to see how far Television has come and QLED sure is a surprise. We all know for a fact that it does not end here and this only brings more excitement for the upcoming future. We can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. 🙂
