Earlier this week, it has finally happened. Apple has finally refreshed their new Macbook Air, Mac Mini and has included the latest specification under the hood. Not just that, Apple has refreshed the new Apple iPad Pro with a new design, impressive specification and now has a USB-C Port. With that said, it is also coming into the Malaysian market. We know what’s the price of it too. 😊
Apple Mac Mini
The Mac Mini comes in two different configurations. The base configuration comes with an Intel Core i3 processor – a quad-core processor clocked in at 3.6 GHz. Following that, it comes with a 8GB DDR4 RAM, a 128GB PCIe SSD Storage configuration. In terms of graphics, it has an Intel UHD Graphic 630. The base variant starts at RM 3,449.
The higher variant comes with an Intel Core i5, an hexa-core processor clocked in at 3.0 GHz. You get pretty much the same as the base variant when it comes to the RAM and GPU but the storage gets a bump to 256GB. It’s priced at RM 4,699.
The Macbook Air comes with two different variant as well. Both the variant is equipped with a 1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 Y Series processor which uses less resource. In terms of display, you get a 13” Retina Display. It comes with a 8GB LPDDR3 RAM. As for graphics, it’s equipped with Intel UHD Graphics 617. The Macbook Air features a Touch ID sensor, a Force Touch Trackpad and a Butterfly keyboard. Finally, we have two Thunderbolt 3 Ports.
The only difference between the two variant, is just the SSD. The base variant with 128GB comes in at RM 5,249 and the 256GB Variant is priced at RM 6,099.
Finally, we have the iPad Pro. Now, the iPad Pro comes in two variant but multiple configurations. The first one we are going to take a look at is the iPad Pro 11” – inch version. There is 4 different storage configuration – starting from 64GB, 256GB, 512GB and a whopping 1TB capacity. The pricing is RM 3,499 (64GB), RM 4,149 (256GB), RM 4,999 (512GB) and RM 6,699 (1TB). These are the pricing for the Wi-Fi only variant. Now if you want to get your hands on the Cellular version, these are the pricing – RM 4,149 (64GB), RM 4,799 (256GB), RM 5,649 (512GB) and RM 7,349 (1TB).
Now on to the iPad Pro 12.9”- inch version. Starting off with the Wi-Fi Variant pricing – it starts off with RM 4,349 (64GB), RM 4,999 (256GB), RM 5,849 (512GB) and RM 7,549 (1TB). If you are opting in for the Cellular version, the price are – RM 4,999 (64GB), RM 5,469 (256GB), RM 6,499 (512GB) and RM 8,199 (1TB).
Apple Pencil (2nd Generation)
Apple is going to continue selling the 1st Generation Apple Pencil. But the new Apple Pencil (2nd Generation), has features that only works best with the new iPad Pro as it now charges via induction and clips on magnetically. It is priced at RM 549 and comes in one color – that’s white.
And that’s the pricing for the new lineup of products from Apple. We are quite not sure when it will be available in Malaysia but you’ll be able to get it in Singapore on the 7th November. This applies all across the other products as well. Seems like this time around you are getting more value for what you pay with the iPad Pro and the Mac Mini than the Macbook Air. It is definitely a good comeback but it just doesn’t seem to justify the price tag.
It took us a fair bit of time to scout for the pricing. So, do share it with your friends and family who are looking forward to get their hands on either one of these.
