If you remember Motorola, they had an amazing lineup of devices which ran Pure Android and honestly, I personally enjoyed using it as my daily driver in recent years. Ever since last year, they sort of left the Malaysian Market leaving us with no new device. But looks like things are looking better because this New Year, Motorola Malaysia has made their way back with the all-new Motorola One.
Motorola One
As the name suggests, the Motorola One runs Android One out of the box to make sure that it gets the latest update to the new OS and also, keep their users’ security in check. It runs Android O out of the box with updates for P ready to go and when Q makes it way, you can switch to Q too. As for the specification, the device rocks a 5.9” HD+ Display in a 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 with a clock speed of 2.0GHz coupled with 4GB RAM. Following that, it has a 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB.
To accommodate the trend, it has a Dual 13MP Smart camera system – which is interesting and a front 8MP Selfie Camera. It’s surprising to see that they have opted in for a dual 13MP especially at this price point because normally the secondary sensor is a Depth Sensor.
Finally, the phone rocks a 3000 mAh battery under the hood with support for their proprietary 15W TurboCharging Capability via the USB-C Port which is a nice inclusion. The body is crafted in glass and it has a Splash Resistant P2i coating as well. Other than that, you’ll get the signature Moto features like Moto Actions – where you can perform a double chop to turn on the flashlight and a twist for quick capture and Moto Display – which gives you a preview of what’s happening as well.
