Popular homegrown bookstore, BookXcess has officially opened its latest outlet, at Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang.

First BookXcess Outside Of The Klang Valley

The Gurney Paragon Mall outlet happens to be the first BookXcess in the Northern Region, and happens to be a very special bookstore. Dubbed ‘The House of a Million Stories,’ the outlet features the longest bookshelf in Malaysia, measuring 70 metres in length. Also, there is a 10 metre high bookshelf, which is equivalent to a two-storey building! Like all other BookXcess stores, avid readers can expect a diverse selection of titles to choose from. This includes books from art and design to literature, fiction, non-fiction, young adult, and many more.

With Augmented Reality (AR) technology on the rise now, BookXcess offers Little Hippo AR books at Gurney Paragon. Meant for young ones, the books create an immersive, interactive reading experience for reading, playing, and learning. Like any other BookXcess, its latest store offers 50 to 80 percent off the recommended retail price on all its books. This happens to be the company’s main selling point, and its goal is to make reading popular again. Andrew Yap, the founder of BookXcess wants books to become a household item that everyone can afford.

If you happen to reside in Penang or simply want to pick up a book from BookXcess, you may head to Gurney Paragon Mall to explore the new store. It is a rather large bookstore, covering approximately 26,000 square feet, and will be hard to miss as it takes up the entire 7th floor and part of the 8th floor. Also, the children’s section features a wide view of the ocean front, which should intrigue the young ones. On top of that, the store comes with its own in-store café, known as Café Wolf. BookXcess Gurney Paragon is open from 10am till 10pm on a daily basis.
