Following Acer’s debut with their new Predator laptops at CES 2019, Acer Malaysia has brought in one of their Predator laptops into the Malaysian Market and it’s the thinnest gaming laptop we have witnessed so far. Meet the Acer Predator Triton 500, the highly portable laptop with some serious power under the hood.

Coming in at 2.1kg and a whopping 17.1mm thick, the Acer Predator Triton 500 is one looker. The laptop has this gorgeous design going around and it’s constructed in a Metal shell offering better structural integrity and solid feel as you use it. On the front, you’ll see a 15.6” Full HD IPS Panel with 300 nits brightness which supports 144Hz with 3ms response rate. Despite the thin bezel which you can find around the display, the webcam is located right up at the top which is nice.
The laptop boast a 3 Zone RGB Keyboard which now allows you to take your whole gaming RGB experience to another level. It has a decent sized Trackpad below the keyboard which is pretty nice too. The laptop has a dedicated Turbo button that allows you to overclock and give the best performance possible.
Now on to the specification, the Predator Triton 500 runs an Intel 8th Generation Core i5 or i7 depending which one you prefer and as for the GPU, it houses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM respectively. For those who want more power, you can opt in for the RTX 2070 Max-Q Version that offers 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM under the hood. As for the storage, Acer has gone for 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD configuration. What makes the storage a lot more interesting is the fact that it is configured in RAID 0. Following that, you get 2 x 8 (16GB) DDR4 RAM.
As for the ports, the Predator Triton 500 has a USB Type-C port which supports USB 3.1 Gen 2, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3), 3 x USB 3.1 Gen2 with Power-off Charging, 1 x HDMI 2.0, 1 x DisplayPort 1.4 and finally, Headphone and a Microphone-in Jack. For the audio, Acer has opted in for Waves MaxxAudio Sound Technology which has better sound quality and experience.
Pricing and Availability
The Acer Predator Triton 500 will be available in 3 Variants and will be priced at:
- Intel Core i5 with RTX 2060 at RM 6,799
- Intel Core i7 with RTX 2060 at RM 7,599
- Intel Core i7 with RTX 2070 at RM 8,699
The Triton 500 powering Core i7 with RTX 2060 is now available throughout Malaysia but for those wwantnts to get their hands on the Core i7 along with the RTX2060 or RTX 2070, you’ll have to wait till April 2019.
Update, 22nd March: Acer got in touch with us and updated that the Acer Predator Triton 500 does not have NVIDIA G-Sync enabled.
