One of the brands that didn’t unveil anything new but showcased some of their recent announcements from their event that happened back in New York, would be Acer. Possibly the prettiest booth we have ever come across and that’s not all – they sure did have a bunch of toys inside for us to take a look – starting from their ConceptD, Nitro 5, 7 and Predator Helios 700.

ConceptD 5 | 7 | 9

ConceptD is Acer’s answer to pro creators needs and desire. These PC and Laptops are equipped with top-notch specifications that you don’t see in devices that we use on a day-to-day basis. Starting off with the laptops, Acer showcased their ConceptD 5, 7 and 9. The ConceptD 5 and 7 has a similar design going in and out but what you find under the hood varies. But some of the key takeaway features of these devices are the fact that – these devices features Pantone Validated Display and Adobe RGB Color Gamut which is possibly the most color accurate displays out there.

It was suprising to see how thin and light the 5 & 7 was and the specification was rather interesting. We noticed that there were variants with Intel Processor combined with Radeon Vega Graphics instead of the usual Intel HD which we see in other modern day machines. As for the GPU like on the Concept 7, comes with an NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000. Mindblowing isn’t it?

And then we have the ConceptD 9 – which is their flagship Laptop for the ConceptD laptop series. First thing we noticed is that – the laptop shares a similar design as their late Acer Aspire R7 which has a fairly similar design. The cool thing about this is the fact that the display can articulate in a lot of ways and has support for Touch and Stylus. Under the hood, you will find an Intel Core i9 Processor coupled with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, a UHD Display with Adobe RGB Color space.

Acer Predator Helios 700

Just like the ConceptD 9, Acer has something special under their Gaming brand – Predator. We checked out the Predator Helios 700 which is their top-of-the-line Gaming laptop which has some ridiculously beefed up specification going on. Powered by Intel Core i9 Processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 and a 17” 144Hz 3ms Display with NVIDIA G-Sync support.

Now the magic with this happens in the keyboard area – because it isn’t an ordinary keyboard. The WASD keys on the laptop stands out like literally. These are MagForce Keys. To break that term, its Magnets and Force – the magnets allows the keys to identify how much force you are actuating on your keys and it works wonders. So, lets say if you want to move slowly in a game, you just have to press with little force and if you want to move any faster then – well, you get the drill.

With that, the whole keyboard panel is called the HyperDrift Keyboard. Now this is cool. The whole panel slides down to activate a turbo mode in the system – this allows the system to start their cooling system, with its new Aeroblade Fans, making processing or gaming sessions efficient and cool.

Acer Nitro 5 & 7

Finally, we have the entry grade Gaming laptops – that has finally received a major design change and yet still rock the signature Nitro Look. Meet the Nitro 5 & 7. These two laptops – as the number suggest – is the size of the laptop. But other than that, you get the upgraded specification for this time of the year. Powered by a 9th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor coupled with NVIDIA GeForce GTX1660 Ti and so much more. A laptop that we could recommend to someone who has a limited budget and yet wants to makes the most out of it. 😊

Huge thanks to Acer Malaysia and Acer Taiwan for having us over and it was a pleasure to take a closer look at these bad boys.
