Earlier in October, GoPro had officially launched two new action cameras that includes the GoPro Hero 8 Black and their exciting 360-degree camera, the GoPro Max. FunSportz, the local distributor for GoPro, has announced that both products are now available in Malaysia for purchase.

GoPro Max

A successor to the company’s initial 360-degree camera, the GoPro Fusion, the new GoPro Max features an improved dual camera setup with Max HyperSmooth image stabilisation that emphasise on capturing 360-degree footage. It is also possible to use it as a standard action camera by utilising either one of its cameras. Furthermore, vloggers and selfie addicts will also highly appreciate the Max’s colour LCD display located beneath its front camera.

The GoPro Max is able to shoot 360-degree videos at 5.6k resolution and 30 fps, while on action camera mode it could capture footage in 1440p and 60 fps. Its dual camera has a total of four digital lenses which allows you to capture videos in the new ultra-wide Max SuperView mode, which the company boasts that it is their widest field of view to date. Editing the 360-degree footage from the Max is also made accessible and easier via GoPro’s mobile app on phones or tablets.

GoPro Hero 8 Black

Along with the GoPro Max comes the company’s latest streamline action camera, the GoPro Hero 8 Black. This time around, the camera also features a new modular setup which allows various accessories to be mounted. Accessories include the Media Mod, a shotgun microphone for directional audio; Light Mod, a waterproof LED light; and the Display Mod, a 1.9-inch flip-up viewfinder. Hopefully we’ll be expecting more cool mods to be made available for the Hero 8 Black in the near future.

The GoPro Hero 8 Black is equipped with a digital indicator display on its front and a touchscreen colour LCD screen on its rear. The camera allows for up to 4K with 60 fps video recording and also features the updated HyperSmooth 2.0 stabilisation software. Other features include four virtual lenses for video capture, better wind suppression with its built-in microphone, voice activated controls, and 8x slow-motion recording at 1080p 240 fps.
