At this years CES 2020, Acer has announced a slew of products, and this includes additions to its TravelMate portfolio. This time around, the TravelMate P2 and TravelMate P6 have been announced. So, what are these devices all about?
Acer TravelMate P2
Let’s start off with the TravelMate P2, which happens to come in four variants. There’s the P214 with a 14-inch display, and the P215 with a 15-inch display. These are available with or without NVIDIA MX230 graphics. Powering the laptops are Intel Comet Lake-U processors, with the choice of up to Core i7-10510U, with 32GB of RAM, and a 512GB PCIe SSD coupled with 1TB of HDD. Connectivity options and ports on the TravelMate P2 include Wi-Fi 6, Cat. 6 LTE, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 3.1 Type-A, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, a Nano SIM slot, along with an SD card reader. Keeping the lights on is a 48 Wh battery which is slated to last up to 13 hours on a single charge.
Acer TravelMate P6
The TravelMate P6 takes it up a notch further, by packing better hardware, and is rather light, weighing 1.1KG. It is geared towards mobile professionals after all. There are four models as well, The P614-51, and P614-51T, with the option of with or without NVIDIA MX250 discrete graphics. Just like its less capable sibling, the TravelMate P6 is available in CPU options of up to Intel Core i7-10510U. All variants come with a 14-inch IPS display with ability to cover 100% sRGB, though the P614-51T supports multi-touch. Also, those with NVIDIA MX250 graphics come with a larger LTE band coverage, with Cat.12 download speeds. Acer has also equipped the TravelMate P6 with a fingerprint reader, and an IR camera to support Windows Hello. Customers can choose between a 45 Wh and a 60 Wh battery, but this also depends on the variant chosen.
Pricing & Availability
The Acer TravelMate P2 will be available in January in EMEA and China. Prices start at €599 and RMB 4,499, respectively. Meanwhile, North America will receive the device sometime in February, with prices starting at US$699.99.
On the other hand, the Acer TravelMate P6 will be made available in January in China, while EMEA and North America will receive it in February. Prices start at RMB 9,999, €1,099 and US$1,149.99, respectively.
