If you are one of those users, well – like myself who misses the good ol’ days of flip phone, the Moto Razr is one option but its no longer the only option because Samsung has unveiled their Galaxy Z Flip and my body is so damn ready for this smartphone for so many good reasons because other than that flipping goodness, it can only get as fantastic as this.

Galaxy Z Flip

Let’s get the specification out of the way before we talk anything about the new Galaxy Z Flip. On the inside, it houses a 6.7” FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Display in a 21:9 aspect ratio. When closed, it has a small 1.1” Super AMOLED Display on the outside. On the front when opened, comes with a 10MP Selfie camera and on the back it comes with a dual camera setup – an Ultrawide 12MP Sensor and a 12MP Wide Angle sensor. Under the hood, it powers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB Internal Storage. Finally, it has a battery coming in at 3300 mAh. Now that the specification is out of the way, let’s talk about the phone.

The Hinge and Display

Unlike the Galaxy Fold, which is a completely different device on its own at this point of time. The Z Flip brings back the old Flip phone style. The phone folds into a size of a wallet, making it easier to keep in the pocket. Unlike the first Gen of foldable device from Samsung, the Z Flip now uses an Ultra Thin Glass which is bendable and that is a kicker because we aren’t too sure how they did it, but hell – they did it.

This new Hinge – they call it the hideaway hinge is backed by a dual CAM Mechanism and let’s you open at different range of angle – this is where the whole Flex Mode comes in where you can use it as somewhat like a laptop on the desk and splits into two 4” inch screens respectively. The hinge now features a sweeper technology to keep the dust and dirt away with the nylon fibers in it.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is priced at $1380 and goes on sale this February 14 in three different Colors – Mirror Purple, Mirror Black and Mirror Gold. We aren’t too sure when its going to hit the Malaysian Market, but when it does, you will hear from us.
