After the long wait, Apple has refreshed the iPhone SE lineup which made its debut in 2016 in the 5S body. With that said the new 2020 Apple iPhone SE isn’t identical in terms of design but it definitely carries some nostalgic design cues from its iPhone 8. Here’s what the phone packs.

Apple iPhone SE 2020

As we mentioned earlier, the iPhone SE is Apple’s answer to an affordable smartphone to the Apple ecosystem. The whole phone is constructed in aluminum and glass, in a sandwich manner – which is very identical to the iPhone 8. That said, on the front – it brings quite the nostalgia. It houses a 4.7” Retina HD Display and it uses Touch ID – the fingerprint sensor on the front, assuming its still based on Apple’s Haptic Engine.

In terms of specification, the iPhone SE isn’t too shabby – it runs the exact same processor as the iPhone 11 Pro, which is the Bionic A13 Processor, their fastest processor as of now. Other than that, the phone supports Qi Wireless Charging, Wi-Fi 6 and with Dual SIM support (in selected countries).

On the back, the phone houses one camera only – which necessarily isn’t bad but a very practical option. It houses a 12MP f/1.8 sensor which still has the capability to shoot Portrait Mode and even have Depth Control. That said, it also supports Smart HDR – making it quite the contender. It also shoots video on 4K up to 60fps. On the front, it has a 7 Megapixel camera as a selfie shooter.

Pricing and Availability

The iPhone SE 2020 will be made available in three colors: Black, White and Product Red followed by three different storage capacities: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB respectively. The phone will go on sale for $399 in the United States, starting 17th April. As for Malaysia, the pricing starts at RM 1,999 for the 64GB, RM 2,199 for 128GB and RM 2,699 for 256GB respectively. There isn’t an official date available just yet, but we will keep you posted as the time nears.

That said, this iPhone SE is going to dethrone pretty much any device out there – that pricing is extremely appealing.
