Philips have just added two new offerings to its true wireless earbuds family, namely the TAT2205 and TAT3255, hot on the heels of the release of the TAT1815 back in late August this year. Promising great sound and decent water-resistance, these earbuds are designed with a footprint small enough it’ll fit right in the slimmest of jeans while not compromising on battery life.

Performance

Utilising 6mm neodymium drivers, both the Philips TAT2205 and TAT3255 are said to pack a real punch and deliver great sound quality while being housed in a lightweight design that fits snugly in almost everyone’s ears thanks to the included soft, interchangeable ear-tip covers. Keeping sweat and moisture at bay is an IPX4 rating so users can keep the tunes flowing even in the unexpected downpour or with intense exercise. The TAT3255 also supports Mono mode, which allows for one earbud to be charged at a time if the need arises, and is perfect for earbud sharing.

Easy Controls

With a physical button on each side of the earbuds, both the Philips TAT2205 and TAT3255 allows for quick adjustment of volume, playback and call management. Siri and Google Assistant is a mere hail away and users will be able to perform tasks like calling, texting or checking the weather without even fishing out their phones. The built-in mic also supports echo cancellation to keep your voice clear during voice calls.

Fast Connections

When first using the earbuds, they will automatically look for any available Bluetooth devices to ensure a hassle-free experience. Once paired, the earbuds remember the last connected device so it pairs with the device near instantly when users turn on Bluetooth. With support for multiple codecs and Bluetooth 5.1, the buds can play music even up to 10 metres away from your device.

Battery Life

All of the above would be less appealing if the earbuds themselves do not last long in terms of playtime. Fortunately, the TAT2205 comes with 4 hours of playback time while the TAT3255 packs 6 hours with additional juice provided by the case charges up an additional 8 hours for the former and an impressive 16 more hours for the latter. A simple 15 minute charge in the case will give users another 1 hour of listening, while it takes approximately 2 hours to top-up the case fully via USB-C.
