DJI Pocket 2 made its debut, the successor to the previous Pocket we have seen from them. This particular camera now comes with some significant improvement that makes it quite an appealing little camera to bring when you travel, although we won’t be doing that anytime soon. But hey, still – lets take a look at it.

DJI Pocket 2

The DJI Pocket 2 gets an upgrade in the sensor department – a jump from its 1/2.3” sensor to a 1.7” sensor – this means you get to experience better image and video quality (be it day or night) and be able to capture better quality footage. The field of view of the camera has also been improved to a wider 93 degree as compared to the 80 degree and not just that, the focal length has gotten a lot wider too with a 20mm and an aperture of f/1.8 respectively whereas the Pocket 1st generation came with a 26mm f/2.0 focal length. Finally, to add it all up the Hybrid AF2.0 is offering a better subject tracking and autofocus.

Other than the important upgrade to make it different from the Pocket 2, DJI has fixed some flaws and made the experience a whole lot better in the software department. Like Fast wake to turn it on instantaneously, HDR Video capturing capability and one of the important aspects which the Pocket fell behind is the audio department. This time, it has a new peripheral – called Matrix Stereo that pairs with the Pocket 2 wirelessly and records better audio with its 4-microphone built into it. You can take advantage of the Audio Zoom to capture the important audio and make sure it isn’t lost. Finally, you have some nifty features like Story Mode, Slow Motion and so on.

The new Osmo Pocket 2 does come with new set of accessories: A Mini Control Stick, Do-it-all Handle, Micro Tripod, and a new charging case to go along with it but sold separately. Best part about the new charging case is that it has storage slots for 2 microSD Cards, 4 ND Filters and 2 Smartphone adapters.
