Acer announces their latest additions to their multi-award-winning line-up of monitors that cater to gamers who either look to play professionally and demands the latest and greatest monitor technologies, or the casual player who just wants a great experience overall. Acer’s newest assortment of monitors are also the first gaming-grade monitors to offer TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe® certification.
Acer Predator XB3
Kicking things off are the new Predator XB3 series of monitors that consists of three models and are offered in either Full HD or Quad HD resolutions with support for high refresh rates and VESA DisplayHDR. The Predator XB323U is a 32” QHD monitor with support for up to 270Hz overclocked and a pixel response time of merely 0.5ms. The panel is also capable of displaying 99% of AdobeRGB for colour accurate work, VESA DisplayHDR 600 for high dynamic range content consumption backed by multi-zone local dimming.
The Predator XB273U NV is a 27” monitor with a QHD Agile-Splendor IPS panel that refreshes at 170Hz (frames per second), offers 95% DCI-P3 coverage with a Delta E < 1 and support for VESA DisplayHDR 400. It carries Acer’s VisionCare 4.0 that adjust monitor brightness and temperature according to ambient light, and is also TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe®-certified so it filters out blue light selectively but still offers crisp and vivid colour.
Next on the lineup is the Predator XB253Q with a 24.5” IPS screen that can be overclocked to a maximum of 280Hz (!) with a 0.5ms G-to-G pixel response time and NVIDIA G-sync support. An integrated RGB LightSense feature with nine special effects allows the RGB light strips on the monitor to sync with the beat of music, gameplay audio and more. It also features tilt, swivel, height and pivot adjustments for the optimal viewing experience.
Acer Predator X34 GS
Featuring a 34” ultrawide screen sporting UWQHD (3440 x 1440) resolutions, the new Predator X34 GS is powered by a Agile-Splendor IPS panel that offers a wide viewing angle, refreshes at 180Hz overclocked and an ultra-fast 0.5ms pixel response time. It is also NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible for the variable refresh rate goodness and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified for a (slight) boost in contrast and sharpness. The panel is also capable of 98% DCI-P3 colour coverage so content viewed on screen are vivid and colour accurate. It also comes with a pair of 7W speakers built-in so external speakers are not a necessity.
Acer Nitro XV272
For the aspiring gamer who wants a decent gaming monitor, Acer launches two new monitors for the Acer Nitro line-up that targets people who want the most out of their money with the XV272U KV and the XV272 LV that come with TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe® certification. The Acer Nitro XV272 LV on the other hand is a 27” FHD screen that again uses an Agile-Splendor IPS panel with a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz overclocked, displays up to 90% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum and a low Delta E rating of <1.
The Acer Nitro XV272U KV is a 27” monitor with an Agile-Splendor IPS that pumps out QHD frames at 170Hz overclocked with a 1ms G-to-G response time. It still remains colour accurate with 95% DCI-P3 colour coverage and a Delta E < 1 rating. It also features Acer’s suite of LightSense, ColorSense and ProxiSense technologies for a comfortable viewing experience through automated adjustment of monitor brightness and temperatures based on readings off an in-built ambient light sensor.
Pricing & Availability
While Acer have yet to announce local availability, the monitors have prices and expected date of availability listed for North America, EMEA and China. The Predator XB3 series will be available in North America starting January 2021 with the Predator XB323U GX priced at a MSRP of USD $899.99, the Predator XB273U NV going for a MSRP of USD $549.99 and the Predator XB253Q GW costing a MSRP of USD $429.99.
The Predator X34 GS will be available in North America In December 2020 for a MSRP of USD $999.99. Lastly, the Nitro series of monitors will be available December 2020 too for a MSRP of USD $399.99 for the XV272U KV and USD $279.99 for the XV272 LV.
