In the sea of Vacuum Cleaners, we have seen so far, we have plethora of options to choose from and that ranges from the traditional Vacuum Cleaner and Cordless Vacuum Cleaner that has been around for years. But knowing that our lifestyle has changed tremendously these days with us spending more time out than in and even if we do spend in like this year where we have been at home due to the pandemic, the line between our personal and work life has been blurred.

This is where autonomous systems come into play and Robotic Vacuum Cleaners does things better by saving time, taking hygiene up a notch and most of all, simplifying the process as easy as possible. To make things interesting, we pit the ECOVACS OZMO T8 against its contender Roborock S6 MaxV – the result is going to surprise you.

ECOVACS OZMO T8 vs Roborock S6 MaxV

Despite the similar form factor and the vague resemblance seen with both the OZMO T8 and Roborock S6 MaxV, there’s more to it than it meets the eye. Let’s look at the comparison between both the Vacuum – and you will realize that the OZMO T8 comes off superior in comparison to the S6 MaxV in the following aspect: the worktime, side brush, impressive cleaning efficiency and TrueMapping.

Now this may seem like a small thing to worry about but in all reality, its difference like these that matters the most in doing better cleaning job. Let’s talk about it in detail.

ECOVACS OZMO T8 Advantages

Side Brush: two is better than one

We are going to start off with the side brush on the vacuum. Now here’s how it works: the moment the vacuum leaves the dock, it starts spinning inwards into the intake. This is done to move the dust particles or any small collective material on the floor closer to the vacuum’s intake. This side brush is essential because there will be harder to reach spots for the vacuum to reach – say for instance the corner of a room or under a shelf with shorter leg and width. The OZMO T8 dual brush design allows the vacuum to go under narrow spaces and clean both sides collectively whereas the Roborock S6 MaxV is an absolute miss due to the single side brush. If it misses a spot on the right side, it misses it entirely and you will have to find a manual way to clean the other side.

The side brush on the OZMO T8, is the fact that its easily replaceable – and all you need to do is hot swap by unplugging it and replacing it with a new one. In fact, they have included an extra set inside the box, so you don’t have to go and purchase a new set. The Roborock S6 MaxV lacks in this aspect with no replacements and its screwed to the Vacuum itself, which is a big no-no as this brush gets worn off easily.

Cleaning Efficiency is Important

While the Roborock S6 MaxV has no rating or claims on the cleaning efficiency, according to our real-world testing, it did have some issues not being able to clean certain part of the room and this is where the OZMO T8 once again excels. To give where credit is due, the Roborock does have a better power rated at 2500Pa but remember, power isn’t everything. We sprinkled some dust and the usual particles on the floor to see how it handles. The cleaning efficiency is noticeably better with the T8 versus the contender. Now do take note that it’s on a linear floor and the experience may vary depending on the surface. That combined with the 180 minutes of battery life covers more ground.

If say the vacuum misses a spot or a harder to reach area isn’t cleaned well, you can move the stuff over, set a manual mode and set the OZMO T8 to clean that area.

TrueDetect works wonders

This is also where obstacle avoidance is important. In a household, we have obstacles on our floor and if you have kids you may have their toys lying around, clothes that’s lying on the floor instead of the laundry pile. For us, its cables. Here’s why – in my room, I personally have one power outlet only. That’s an issue and extension is important for me to power my peripherals and gears in my room. The OZMO T8 did a better job in avoiding the wire. It’s even smart in detecting a mat that’s thin on the floor and turns of the mopping features so that it doesn’t get the mat wet in anyway. This is all possible thanks to the 3D TrueDetect sensor it uses.

TrueDetect 3D has the potential to detect millimeter level detection and what that means is: instead of ONLY having the ability to detect selected object on the floor at a specific height as it uses an imaging system to detect (ReactiveAI) which is what the Roborock S6 MaxV does, OZMO T8 can detect objects from a distance variant ranging from 4.5 to 30 cm to get a good high-resolution information. The system gets smarter when it enters a dark surface where it slows down and avoids direct collision and attain damage.

Simplify Life with the Accessories for your OZMO T8

Unlike the Roborock S6 MaxV, once if you do purchase it, you are done with and there are no accessories to make your life easier or the whole cleaning process exciting. Ecovacs made two accessories for the T8 and it is quite the game changer for your busy lifestyle.

1/4

The DEEBOT comes included with a Mopping plate which does the bare minimum, and you can say the same for the Roborock S6 MaxV which it has one too.

But the OZMO Pro Mopping System takes it up a notch for an enhanced mopping experience with features like high-frequency vibration for deep clean and scrubbing away stains on the floor. It also comes included with easy to use and throw cleaning mats which pastes at the bottom or you can use the cloth that came included with the DEEBOT.

Again, with the Roborock S6 MaxV, you are stuck with the container-based cleaning that comes along with the vacuum. But that is not the case with OZMO T8. Instead of taking the container that collects the dust and disposing away manually, the DEEBOT also has a cleaning station called Auto-Empty Station where it doubles as a charging station and cleans the container away. So, think of it as a Vacuum cleaner’s cleaner. What it does is that, once its docked, the auto-empty station kicks in and collects everything in the vacuum bag for easy disposal which you can do once every thirty days.
