Earlier this month, we witnessed the launch of their new Cordless vacuum – which is the Dyson Omni-glide, their new multidirectional portable cordless vacuum that has no power compromises – which you can read all about it here. But there’s another vacuum from Dyson that quietly went on sale, and now its officially available in the Malaysian market – the Dyson Micro 1.5kg – their extremely ultra-light-weight cordless vacuum just at 1.5kg.

Dyson Micro 1.5kg

To put it simply, the main highlight of this Dyson Micro 1.5kg is its weight – because most of their other vacuums in the lineup weighs more than the Micro and it comes in this bulky form factor. But the Micro 1.5kg keeps it small, compact, and as light as possible – hence that weight. Dyson shaved off significant amount and reengineered the design, but the real question is, what about the performance and the features Dyson is known for? Is it still there?

Surprisingly yes, the Micro 1.5kg houses a five-layer whole machine filtration and captures 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.3 microns and shoots out cleaner air into the room. The suction power is still based on the two key inventions: the Root Cyclone Technology that creates 8 cyclones to generate about 96000 g of force and the Hyperdymium motor that spins up to 105,000rpm to suck any kind of stubborn debris at ease.

Earlier I mentioned about re-engineered design – well, you can notice that on the now called Micro Fluffy cleaner head – its actually the smallest and lightest fluffy head you could ever see on a Dyson vacuum. You do get all the other attachments to clean mattresses, hard-to-reach spaces with the Combi crevice tool and a wall dock to charge it. The no-touch bin has to be my personal favorite thing about the Micro as you don’t have to manually dispense the dust – but instead use the hygienic ejection mechanism built into it.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, it uses the buttons for controlling the vacuum as compared to the Trigger control we have seen in the other Dyson vacuums and the battery lasts about 20 minutes – which is kind of short but still more than enough really.

Pricing and Availability

The Dyson Micro 1.5kg is priced at RM 1999 – making it the second most affordable Cordless Vacuum (the first place still goes to the Dyson V8 Slim). It comes in one color variant and now available for purchase through dyson.my or you can go to Dyson Official Store on Lazada where you can get it with a discount too.
