EISA Camera of the Year: Alpha 1
The Alpha 1 features a 50.1 MP full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and BIONZ XR processor for rapid read speeds and continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second, as well as an uninterrupted blackout-free vision in the electronic viewfinder.
Flash sync up to 1/400 sec and electronic shutter flash sync up to 1/200 sec are both possible with the dual driven shutter. In addition, the Alpha 1 can record movies in up to 8K (7680×4320) 30p 10-bit 4:2:0 resolution.
EISA Photo/Video Camera: Alpha 7S III
The Alpha 7S III features a 12.1-megapixel back-illuminated full-frame Exmor R CMOS picture sensor with excellent performance at high sensitivity levels up to ISO 409,600 and no rolling shutter effects.
Its full-pixel readout also allows for ultra-sharp and clean footage without the need for cropping. In 4K/60p mode, the camera can record for over an hour 1, while 4K/120p and Full HD/240p are also accessible in slow motion.
The camera records 10-bit footage with 4:2:2 colour subsampling internally, and it can also output 16-bit RAW data through HDMI to a compatible recorder.
With a 3.0 type side flip LCD screen and an industry-leading 9.44 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, you can accurately frame and monitor your subject.
Finally, with S-Cinetone integrated, complete HDMI connectivity for both recording and editing video, and tenacious AF with Sony’s proprietary Real-time tracking and Eye AF technology, you can achieve optimal video workflow.
EISA Standard Lens: FE 50mm F1.2 GM
The FE 50mm F1.2 GM has a small and light design, as well as a bright F1.2 aperture. Its 11-blade circular diaphragm and XA (extreme aspherical) lens elements, both newly developed, produce beautiful bokeh.
The four XD Linear Motors (extreme dynamic) provide quick and precise autofocus and tracking. Furthermore, the FE 50mm F1.2 GM features an aperture ring that can be converted between clicked and clickless operation, making it suitable for both picture and video photography.
EISA Wideangle Lens: FE 14mm F1.8 GM
This rectilinear 14mm F/1.8 lens combines Sony’s newest optical design breakthroughs and manufacturing techniques into a rectilinear 14mm F/1.8 lens that is as convenient to carry in the field as it is to use in the studio.
Despite its small size and weight, Sony’s FE 14mm F1.8 GM performs admirably for landscapes, nightscapes, architecture, and videography.
The XA lens components and 9-blade aperture contribute to pleasing bokeh, while the XD Linear Motors ensure quick and accurate autofocus.
EISA Wideangle Zoom Lens (full-frame): FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM
Sony’s FE 12-24mm F2.8 GM lens comes with the largest XA lens element produced so far. The lens is also compact considering its 122° angle of view and bright maximum aperture of F2.8. The lens also has water and oil-repellent fluorine coating on the front element.
The four XD Linear Motors (extreme dynamic) provide quick and precise autofocus and tracking. Furthermore, the FE 50mm F1.2 GM features an aperture ring that can be converted between clicked and clickless operation, making it suitable for both picture and video photography.
EISA Multimedia Smartphone Xperia 1 III
The engineers behind the Alpha series cameras collaborated on the Xperia 1 III, which features fast, accurate continuous AF across all lenses as well as Real-time Eye AF.
The Xperia 1 III also comes with the world’s first Variable telephoto lens, as well as a Dual-PD Sensor and a 4K HDR OLED 120Hz Refresh rate display.
Real-time Tracking is a function on the Xperia 1 III that allows users to capture the most difficult moving subjects in perfect focus.
Real-time Tracking can reliably detect and focus on a subject and continue to monitor it even if it temporarily moves out of sight, thanks to AI-based algorithms and the 3D iToF sensor for measuring distance.
The world’s first smartphone with a Variable telephoto lens paired with a Dual PD sensor that goes up to a 105mm focal length – with rapid autofocus owing to the Dual PD sensor – completes the picture.
The focus is changed in an instant when switching between 70mm and 105mm, allowing you to capture the beauty in the details quickly. For greater creative flexibility in photographing, the Xperia 1 III can now reach focal lengths of 16mm and 24mm.
The Xperia 1 III also comes with full stage stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 360 Reality Audio, as well as new and improved Game Enhancer features.
EISA Home Theatre Projector: VPL-VW590ES
The VPL-VW590ES 1,800lm native 4K lamp projector features a picture processor called “X1 for projector,” which is based on technology used in Sony TVs and is optimised for projection image qualities.
With the ‘Dynamic HDR Enhancer’ included with the “X1 for projector,” which optimises HDR image quality through dynamic tone mapping, you can watch 4K HDR material the way the creator intended.
On a frame-by-frame basis, dynamic range is increased by deepening dark depths through precision light source dimming while concurrently increasing highlights.
