Dell has just announced several new gaming machines that are powered by AMD. These machines include the Alienware m15 R7, Alienware m15 R5 Alienware Aurora R14 Ryzen Edition and Dell G15.

Alienware m15 R7

Dell says that the Alienware m15 R7 features the “most powerful graphics” ever put on a 15-inch Alienware laptop, with graphics going up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti.

The Alienware m15 R7 now boasts a redesigned Alienware Cryo-tech architecture. The newly developed thermal technology includes larger, thinner, and wider fan blades than the m15 R5 or R6.

Configurations with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or higher now contain redesigned fans with 37.5% lower blade thickness and 2.3x more total blades across the board. This allows up to 1.3 times more airflow with an 87% improvement in internal airflow obstruction compared to before.

The Alienware m15 R7’s other specs include up to AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU, up to a 15.6-inch QHD display with a 240Hz refresh rate, up to 64GB DDR5 memory, up to 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD (single channel) or 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD (dual channel), 87 Whr Lithium-Ion battery, WIFI 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

Alienware m17 R5

As with the Alienware m15 R7. the Alienware m17 R5 is the most powerful 17-inch laptop Dell has ever produced with graphics of up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti.

Users can choose between five power options with the Alienware m17 R5; Full Speed (max power), Performance mode (graphics priority), Balanced mode (balanced CPU/GPU), battery save mode, and Quiet mode (acoustics priority). These power modes are available with the Alienware m15 R7 as well.

The Alienware m17 R5 comes with Alienware’s Cryo-Tech cooling technology with multiple advancements including:

  • A thermal module with a vapour chamber 3.5x the size of the preceding vapour chamber in m17 R4, as well as a 6% increase in overall airflow while only increasing the internal module’s copper weight by 1.3%.
  • A smaller and more efficient CPU fan that has a 5% drop in volume while increasing fan blade count by 26%, fan blade width by 2%, and now uses fan blades that are 17% thinner.
  • A smaller and more efficient GPU fan with a 9% drop in volume, a 26% increase in fan blade count, a 2% increase in fan blade diameter, and fan blades that are 17% thinner.

Other specs include up to AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX CPU, up to a 17.3-inch UHD display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 64GB DDR5 memory, up to 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD (single channel) or 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD (dual channel), 87 Whr Lithium-Ion battery, WIFI 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14

The Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 features AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor and AMD 3D V-Cache technology for improved frame rates across all major triple-A titles. The Aurora R14 includes a new advanced liquid cooler option that improves heat resistance by 42% over the regular liquid cooler.

The Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 also comes with 6 different lighting zones, upgraded from 4 zones on the previous Aurora R10 desktop.

The desktop is outfitted with a unique motherboard that positions power connections closer to the sides to avoid airflow blockage and eliminates the need for a daughterboard for front I/O to reduce internal wiring requirements. Each USB port connects directly to the core architecture.

Furthermore, to eliminate cable clutter and increase airflow, all motherboard power connectors have been positioned towards the motherboard’s edge.

Other specs include Up to AMD Radeon RX 6900XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics, up to 128GB DDR4 XMP RAM, up to 4TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD, standard 2.5G Ethernet and optional Wi-Fi 6 2×2 WLAN with Bluetooth 5.2 as well as an optional 750W power supply.

Dell G15

The final product on the list is the Dell G15, a gaming laptop that’s great for either beginner or casual gamers. The G15 has thermal engineering inspired by Alienware and provides excellent cooling with a dual air intake, ultra-thin fan blades, copper pipes, and four strategically positioned vents.

The Dell G15 touts graphics of up to NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti and up to AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX CPU. It also comes with a display that can go up to QHD resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, either 8GB or 16GB DDR5 memory (expandable up to 32GB) and up to 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.

The Dell G15 is a mobile gaming-inspired device available in Dark Shadow Grey, Spectro Green, and Phantom Grey.

The price and availability of the Alienware m15 R7, Alienware m15 R5 Alienware Aurora R14 Ryzen Edition and Dell G15 in Malaysia have yet to be revealed by Dell. We will update accordingly as soon as we have more info.
