ASUS lifted its lid off many new products during their recent For Those Who Dare: Boundless virtual event. These products include the new ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition and ROG Flow X16 gaming laptops, ROG gaming peripherals and even a first-person game.
ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition
The new ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition comes in either 17.3-inch FHD or QHD displays with a refresh rate of 360Hz and 240Hz respectively, both clocking in at just a 3ms response rate.
The ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition also features up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU, up to 64 GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM and up to 4TB PCIe Gen 4 storage. ASUS also mentions that the ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition comes with ROG’s exclusive Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the GPU and CPU.
The new ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition also features a unique cyberpunk aesthetic with art done in invisible ink on the laptop’s metal body (because why not?). The invisible ink will appear blue and green when shone under a UV light.

ROG Flow X16
The ROG Flow X16 is a new convertible 2-in-1 laptop that comes with either a 16-inch QHD mini LED or IPS screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 165Hz refresh rate. It is also powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU. The laptop also supports XG Mobile external GPUs.
ASUS also included several features to help keep the ROG Flow X16’s thermal in check, including the Frost Force Technology and Pulsar Heatsink, featuring three fans and a high-density heatsink.

New ROG Slash fashion line
ASUS has added a few new items to their ROG Slash fashion line, namely the Crossbody Bag, Backpack, Hip Bag, Protective Laptop Bag, Cobra Buckle Cap and Bucket Hat.
These new additions to the ROG Slash line have been made using premium materials and come with features such as adjustable straps, multiple compartments, and water-repellent TPU materials.
SCAR Runner
SCAR Runner is a new first-person parkour game and is available as an expansion to the ROG Citadel XV game. SCAR Runner follows X, who must recover critical information in a thrilling race against time. Users can also find clues hidden on the chassis of the ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition.
SCAR Runner will be released alongside a giveaway campaign featuring over USD20,000 (RM87,806) in prizes, including the Strix SCAR 17 SE and ROG Slash apparel. The campaign will run from May 17th until June 30th, and more information may be found here.
