Surveillance Station 9.0, the newest upgrade to Synology’s cornerstone solution for comprehensive and scalable surveillance, is now generally available. Synology is now releasing C2 Surveillance, a companion cloud service for footage backup and sharing, in addition to the on-premises option.
Surveillance Station 9.0
Surveillance Station 9.0 is built for bigger and more sophisticated installations, with a revamped user interface that seamlessly merges camera feeds, maps, playback controls, and alarms into a single dashboard to improve situational awareness.
Users can now set up hundreds of cameras in minutes using the new streamlined wizard, which supports bulk configuration by importing a prepopulated spreadsheet or copying settings from previously deployed cameras.

Surveillance Station 9.0 allows organisations to add a second layer of encryption to recorded footage for enhanced security in the event that the NVR, discs, or administrative credentials are compromised or stolen.
To maximise privacy and security against insider assaults, video feeds and management data can also be ingested using the encrypted SRTP/HTTPS protocol.
Remote update management for online and offline recording servers in the Centralized Management System (CMS) makes it easier to keep multi-site deployments secure and durable by ensuring that all devices receive the most recent security updates and functionality enhancements.
C2 Surveillance
Surveillance Station 9.0 allows dual recording, allowing surveillance footage to be streamed to C2 Surveillance at the same time.

C2 Surveillance was designed expressly to reduce potential data loss to only seconds, ensuring that footage is always accessible, even after a catastrophic incident or in the case of system theft from the sites they cover.

The new service’s web interface allows customers to watch recordings from anywhere without having to restore vast amounts of data from a backup server and, if necessary, efficiently share clips with authorities, regardless of whether the recording server is still available and operational.
Price and availability
Surveillance Station 9.0 is now available for all Synology systems. More information for users seeking to upgrade their system may be found here.
C2 Surveillance is also available now, with subscriptions starting at USD1 per month for each camera. Users will be able to test out the service for free until 31st October.
